Not gonna lie, I have no idea why a HC would take a demotion for a rookie HC.
I can be troubling as well...Premieraggie said:
Trouble, I listen to you a lot. Please explain why you like him? He is ( not to be rude) but uninspiring? Best I see on his resume is the stint at LSU. Just asking
I don't know anything about him. What makes him a good pitching coach?trouble said:
I like it

Having lived in Washington, a 2br/2ba house is $1.1M. His doubled salary will go SO FAR in C-Stat. He is very smart to make the move.
Basically, this. My understanding is year 1 at ASU was viewed as a success. Year 2 was a disaster on the pitching front, but all 3 projected weekend starters were out for the year either prior to the start or near the beginning of the year. LSU fans thought he got the most out of their talent in the year he was there.Sean98 said:I can be troubling as well...Premieraggie said:

He is a well respected pitching coach with west coast ties. Built the Washington pitching staff into a CWS worthy team (2018) and was named the assistant coach of the year. Washington scuffled after that but their staff ERA still hung around that 50ish mark. He left to go to Arizona and inherited a depleted staff and they struggled. Before he could recruit replacements the whole staff was fired. He landed on his feet at LSU for the 2022 year and then was offered the Washington head job. 2023 they made the playoffs getting bounced in 3 games in Stillwater. Things didn't go well in 2024 (19-31) aside from winning a series in Austin. And here we are. Was he wired about getting fired? Did he leave for more money and not having to road trip from Seattle to State College, PA for B1G games? We may never know. But he's been hired, and retained by quality baseball minds.
