Correct. He transferred from Penn and they didn't play a full 2021 season. According to the standings I found they were the only Ivy league to play games (14 total) in 2021 but would still fall below the 30% threshold and no posteseason so Appel would get an automatic exemption for another year of eligibility if he wants it.

Dude was a HS coach in Mississippi for like 25 years. He just joined POS 3 years ago.

Possible. Box just came in this year. I'd imagine because of connections with Weiner. His former partner is the bullpen coach of the Mariners.
No ties that I know of with jimmy s other than that.
