He's more of a Claunch type catcher but we don't need him for his bat. We need a solid tough catcher who is experienced and can handle the heat. He checks all those boxes.

Jose Torres was a junior this year.

Stark is a knoxville kid and a was a senior. Also a below average SEC hitter. That backpick move was very well executed throughout the season though.

He played a lot of DH & RF for them this year. Don't think he was very good behind the dish. Could be misremembering though.

Were you able to catch our game vs them? If you didn't you'd understand our attraction. Kid was a stand out that did everything not only right, but to near perfection. Was fun to watch.
I watched our game and the 2nd Tex/Louisiana game. Saw the Home Run and the bat flip, but did not really focus on him otherwise. During the Texas game I did notice that was his 3rd Home Run of the Year and was quite the bat flip for not hitting many. Sounds like many of you were impressed.

Appel made it look easy too. Been saying at all season.

There is a slight chance that we money whip him vs drsft status. He is easily top 3 most important player for Ags and was 1st team SEC for a reason.

Honest question, if the portal closes on July 2, but the draft is July 14, how does that work? Does "closing" simply mean no one new can enter, or that transfers have until July 2 to find a home?

The ULL catcher made that great play in the regional and showed a lot of hustle. That's probably why he's being mentioned.

Yes, I found that very strange. Kaufer was really looking good at the plate in that Stanford regional. And he did commit and sacrifice a lot to come to A&M, graduating early like that. For him to see only a few innings of playing time his sophomore year? I get that Appel is an absolute star and earned the starting catcher spot and you don't necessarily want to take his bat out of the lineup. But could have played Kaufer in midweek games and double-header days. DH or pinch hit Appel in later innings if needed. Especially considering we may not have Appel next year, definitely won't have Bard, and will need a catcher... Getting Max some development time this year would have been crucial! I can't imagine how he must feel.
