That is VERY misleading. That attendance number is for the entire day. They only sell single day tickets for these tournaments. The crowd was no where near sold out.
But sold tickets not actual butts in seats is always claimed attendance…

Both things are true. Also 1st season that all season tickets are sold out I think. So the record book will be full of games this season. Those 2 GA sections were pretty full tonight. The 7 reserve sections were less full

Far more fun to watch right now than the inept baseball team.

It was sold out, no tickets available to buy. But there were some empty seats. Probably because fans from the other 4 teams that were there early had already left. Also some empty seats from season ticket holders.

If you are a season ticket holder and no going to use your seats then get them in hands of someone that can use them. Use this board, there are always people interested.

yeah, the view from the cheap seats (at home) appeared the stadium was 75% full. Crowd noise was quieter than Thursday. (Ball 5 chant out of sync due to crowd dispersal IMO)

But watching the freshman mow down GW was worth every minute. Great game. looking forward to tonight.

Record crowd but I am aware that there are always no shows. I did NOT know a single ticket allowed access to all games that day until someone mentioned it in the thread. Living out of state and not attending games means I miss things like that. But every ticket sale and the concession sales are all revenue for Aggie softball so that's a plus.

The two games vs Tech are 'sellouts' but there will still be empty seats. Quite a few, probably. This sucks, to put it bluntly.

Even so, the players and coaches always praise the 12th Man!

It was great for Coach Heffley and his daughter to get together - great pic of it in the photos of the game on the schedule page. His daughter was the only GW player to get on base - how ironic!

A great photo of Lessentine being carried by her teammates on the press release after the game:

https://12thman.com/news/2025/2/28/softball-lessentine-tosses-first-career-no-hitter-in-rule-rule-victory

I really, really dig the first part of the first sentence in the press release - "Sydney Lessentine tossed her first career no-hitter, while KK Dement blasted her first career grand slam and Frankie Vrazel hit her first career home run ..."

THREE FRESHMEN - AWESOME

Lessentine has 42 SO's on the season with only 4 walks. We have needed someone with a ratio like this for years. Lefty is great but last year her ratio was 200/91 and it is 29/11 so far this year. Sidne's is 32/6. Adding Sidne and Lessentine to our rotation is awesome. And we still have Taylor Brown, redshirting this year, to come in after Lefty graduates. From her HS stats she may be another Lessentine. Of course, really good chance these SO/BB ratios will change once conference starts but it is looking really good so far!

Kate Munnerlyn (7.1 innings pitched) and Leavitt (7.0 innings pitched) are still relatively unknowns so far this year. Only time will tell.

The notes on the game show me wrong on what I posted in the thread last night. I wrote that Lessentine's no hitter was the first freshman to do so since Amanda Scarborough in 2005 but it was Rhiannon Kliesing in 2008. I stand corrected! They were both on the 2008 WCWS team.

At this point in the season the starting rotation for three game series, at least the first part of conference, is looking like Lefty, Sidne, Grace and Lessentine. Good chance Lefty will pitch the Friday night game and 'probably' Sidne on Saturday but I think Saturday and Sunday, especially Sunday, are still up from grabs, depending on the opponent.

Not overlooking Tech, of course, but looking to next weekend - Florida is a really powerful offensive machine. Awesome stats on hits, runs, doubles, HR's, etc. They will be very, very tough to beat. Really great we have them at home! Weekends like this in the SEC is why it is really great to have six pitchers on the staff instead of only four like previous years. And much better arms. Much better.

I really feel bad for the GW right fielder. Replayed it several times. Should have been an easy catch that ended the inning at 4-0 but ...

A definite 'learning experience' for her !!

It was a very good crowd, more than 75%, but not completely full as others have said. We will see how it is tonight. There are SRO available and on the radio they were still saying students could get tickets with their sports pass. We will good tonight and I expect some Teck folks there as well.

I expect a big crowd tonight. Many out of town season tickets holders don't come until Saturday unless it is a big series. I understand that. GW was less than a mid week level team. Kennedy vs Canady should an epic battle tonight

Also 3rd inning fill in. So the SRO folks will likely be able to grab seats at that point.

At that point we need all Aggies to quickly move in. Don't let Teck fans move outside the GA sections. They are annoying enough in the stadium, but I REALLY don't want them sitting by me!

Most of them are probably already in reserved seats in 102. They are all here for the tech vs Texas state game before ours.

And yes, I'm already getting tired of them and I've only been here 10 minutes.

I think going through the emotions of the 1st tech game will help when Florida comes to town this weekend.

Who is #28? Looking through the photos from the weekend posted at TexAgs I could not recognize #28 in one of them and the next photo shows her from behind with no name on the jersey. Not on any roster I have seen.

Other than Lefty's rough outing against Tech our pitchers looked really good over the weekend. We have not seen much of Leavitt or Munnerlyn until now (only 7 innings each) but both did well. Heck, really well. Grace has done better than I thought she would. I am impressed and happy because we will need them in SEC and post season.

Defense was uncharacteristically shaky at times but that will work out.

Hitting was up and down but, except for the first Tech game, we got clutch hits when needed. Some of them huge hits.

Overall, I think we did well.

Florida will be the biggest test so far. Let's do it.

Thanks! I thought about her, being a blonde, but thought she had a set number and set her aside as a possible. Until your reminder I forgot about the 'whatever number is available' policy with really new players and she is the newest player. I do not have a pic of her in uniform, with her hair back, so could not match pic to pic.

It's interesting to see what South Carolina has been able to do under the brand new coach. Sweeping Duke on the road is probably the most impressive performance by an SEC school in the non conference season. Before this weekend our performance in Tallahassee probably would have been. I'm glad we don't have to play them, our schedule is difficult enough.

One thing to think about, if the season plays out like we think it will, we might be looking at a potential rematch with Tech in a super regional here in college station.
