Don't count on schloss self destructing. Keep the hate on this guy and make his world so much smaller than he ever thought it could be.

It has been interesting seeing how their portal recruiting has gone.

They haven't gotten any big name guys which is surprising considering all of their insiders said they were opening up the checkbook way more for Schloss than they did for Pierce on the NIL front.

Their best portal grabs so far are the 2 kids from ASU. Good gets sure, but a step below guys like Kash, Hensler, etc.

Will be interesting to see if Flores and their 1B end up going pro or not. That will be a huge factor in how good they are next season.

The LSU pitcher they got could be a stud if he learns to throw strikes.

I agree and I think Weiner could get him more consistent. It did make me curious though why he would transfer from LSU. Maybe he just doesn't like Yeskie (very likely) but they don't typically lose players they want to keep.

Speaking of meltdowns... nothing like twitter/Podcaster throwing out unvetted rumors. I don't think this went the way he thought it would. ...or maybe it did because i didn't even know this clown was alive yesterday.

I looked at his Twitter feed. Big surprise which college team he's a fan of. (Hint: apparently sip fans actually love horns down, which is why he has about 5 posts in the past month explaining how much it doesn't bother him in detail. Because that doesn't look like overcompensation at all.)

Funny part

Besides it just being made up. It's a non story anyway.

Always love these sources type of posts. They hold as much water as the fake articles where they state quotes from coaches without stating who actually said it.

Is tu a good enough to team to make the playoffs next year?
Seems like everybody needs to bring in portal talent and reload
It looks like tu's transfer talent is a little thin
They need a lot of help on the mound. With their current roster, playing a 30 game SEC schedule is going to be rough.

They may have some pitching talent that Weiner can maximize and look better than they did under Pierce being a part time pitching coach.

Pierce not hiring a replacement pitching coach makes me wonder if CDC was restricting resources to ensure he could fire Pierce.

Will be having drinks with a good sip friend of mine tonight.

I am certain this will be discussed after a few beers...going to be interesting to hear his perspective.

This X poster likes to twist the knife.

What the sips don't understand is that the rest of the SEC is like a bunch of piranhas. They know the sips are taking media money out of their mouths. I have yet to see where Disney/espn has re-written the media deal to up the ante for the entire conference. So they are a drag on the existing deal until the renewal comes due.

Sips and OU aren't getting paid out of the SEC media deal for the 24/25 season. ESPN is paying them directly as part of the exit the B12 a year early agreement. So not a drag yet. Wonder how much of that was SEC saying we don't want to give them a share a year early.

We get the new tier 1 rights deal with the switch from CBS to ESPN this year, which I believe already has a clause for increasing the deal based on additional members.

What is yet to be seen is the increase in the tier 2 rights that ESPN already had. Pretty sure that had a look-in clause, but I think you want to deal with all the changes all at once. I suspect that will coincide with a switch to 9 conference game football schedule they likely happens in 26/27 season. Yet to be seen how much bigger the pie becomes, but I think everyone is waiting on the ratings of the "permanent rivals games" to show demand for the 9 game schedule.

Somewhat interesting to compare Pierce and Schloss. Over the last 10 years....

Pierce went to 3 CWS, 4 regionals and 1 super, and had 1 missed post-season year, with 5 years of 40+ win seasons.
Schloss went to 5 CWS, 3 regionals, and had 1 missed post-season year, with 6 years of 40+ wins seasons.

Both had 1 year wiped due to COVID.

When they were both in the B12 (2017-2021)

In 2017, Pierce came in 6th in conference and went to a regional while Schloss came in 1st and went CWS.
In 2018, Pierce came in 1st in conference and went CWS while Schloss came in 6th with no post-season.
In 2019, Pierce came in 9th with no post season, and Schloss came in 6th with a regional.
2020 was cancelled
2021 they tied for 1st, with TCU making a regional and Pierce making the CWS.

Just based on results, Schloss is just slightly better than they guy they wanted to lynch....

Now do last 3 years H2H A&M-tu record

Hell, I could say going 0-2 in the postseason against us (2022 and 2024 losses) alone might have buried him.

The sips came out of the big 12 as a 3 seed this year. Granted that was pierce and not pos but still. Stretch to say that was a 'good' team.

Without substantial upgrades to the roster we're really gonna see what kind of miracle worker he is or isnt.

I completely understand that one of the few truly unforgivable sins for the Longhorn faithful is losing to A&M.....

Honestly I hadn't really paid attention to tu baseball minus the few times they crossed paths with A&M. I do know Tulane was disappointed Pierce left and struggled until recently (but that may be more due to the coach that followed him). I was just surprised looking at Pierce's record--out of the 7 years that had a postseason, he was in 3 CWS, 2 regionals, and super, with three 1st place conference finishes. That was much better than I would have guessed, but honestly I paid zero attention to sip baseball.

Schloss may be a despicable human, but he seems to be a good coach. I know nothing about Pierce as a person and his record suggests he was a pretty good coach, too.

Trend also matters. Been a few years since their last CWS appearance.

Texas firing Pierce had more to do with our success than his results.

Texas is always reactive to A&M
Hire Sumlin. They Hire Strong.
Solid 2020 season and them fluttering, they freak out and move to SEC.

They aren't spending enough on NIL for baseball. They could be okay next year if the draft and player development goes their way, but they aren't going to compete for top level portal kids if they don't open up the check book.

I was just messing

If I were to talk serious. The biggest issue with him having success at sippyville will be if his players can rally together to overcome his mental games and treating them as a business. He's clearly NOT a players coach. Calling one of your players a little leaguer in the CWS is a very bad look. No other way to slice that one.

A players parent stated the 2022 team bonded and worked to overcome his antics. From Albert's comments with his interaction with the team, they also clearly did it again this year.

I'm not sure Texas players will have the unity or mental strength to do what the A&M players did these past three years. Heck, Pierce lost the team this past year from what was reported. Or maybe it was just sips stating things to justify firing him.
Know someone who had a kid go through that program. The players DID NOT like Pierce. He lost the team a while back. I know of a starter who DID NOT get hitting coach help after March. They were left on their own. I guess the coach thought he was fine and worked on other players when the kid felt like he hasn't hitting well for a stretch. Hit in the part of the order where you expect a good hitter to be too. This was before Longley arrived.

2022 in the CWS. 2023 tu made it farther than A&M did, losing to the same Stanford team in the super that beat A&M in the regional. The "trend" is really only 2024.

The more I look at the results, it seems like A&Ms success in 2024 and the recent head to head matchups were the nail in the coffin for Pierce. I'd bet if tu had won the regional this year, Pierce would still be the longhorn coach.

Definitely " Turgeon-esque" dude did not know how good he had it at A&M, thought he was good enough to take MD to the next level ( he wasn't ) and now he is part of the coaching carousel getting hired & getting fired every 5 years.

Except Turgeon hasn't had a basketball head coach Jon since being fired by Maryland in 2021. At least BCG was hired by Tech.

Point of Sale will marry cdc and quit baseball so they can live together without ever needing to leave their bath house. So then, he will have initial success during the honeymoon but won't have long term success at this stop and as others pointed out it will be his last.

My opinion is that his best baseball is behind him just like cdc is.

We now need to consider Schloss a hero, not a traitor. It's clear that Early was the coach that players wanted to play for and now it looks like the team is even better thanks to the portal. Enjoy sips.

I recognize a lot of parallels between this situation and the time we took Fran from Bama. Lots of excitement about stealing an coach from a championship caliber team initially, but followed by the slow realization that we had hired a guy with a lot of flaws, and by hiring him, we had put the spotlight on those flaws. I see Schloss subsequent career following the same trajectory as Fran's post 'Bama career. The Emperor has no clothes.
