It's hard for me to get too excited (or down) about '25's yet because the 2025 draft is still a long way off. Although the clear trend is more college players in the draft and more high school kids making it to campus, so my thoughts on that may change. But who knows what kind of jump, especially these young pitchers, will make over the next year. Ramirez is around 5'11, 6'0 so that part bodes well for us in terms of the draft. But who knows at this point.
With that said, because of our current tit for tat with the sips, and for those interested, Ramirez is an excellent pitching prospect and had a fantastic junior season. He has good command of his entire arsenal and while his fastball velo is upper 80s topping out low 90s at this point (emphasis on 'at this point'), it moves well and he gets good swing and miss on all of his pitches. He led class 6A in strikeouts this year to go with a 0.70 ERA and 9 wins. He made first team 6A all-state as a junior. He is one of the top lefties in the state in his class. Get him to campus and this is a big get.
