Be careful discussing Schloss's recent activities on this site. A lot of people just caught bans for posting on one of the several threads discussing one of his new friends he's made.
Kinda hard to do that when in two coaching moves NO players followed him from TCU or A&M. If I was recruiting against him I'd have my team use that all day - even if I was at LSU, Tenn, or any other SEC school going after the same top players. Given everything that happened the next few day, I had kind of forgotten about the Tony V awkward press conference behavior. It was definitely discussed at length on TexAgs though and chalked up to Tony V being a jerk from what I remember. The irony.
Wondering now if Tony had a pretty good idea of what sneaky Schloss was up to and it reignited the justified feelings he clearly had for Schloss. The baseball world is pretty small at that level.

We get there, wife, son and myself, and Schloss and Saarloos meet us at the gate, walk us to his office to sit down and talk. Saarloos was probably his top pick as a pitching coach, so he's excited to hear the offer. We talk for about 20 minutes, then Schloss gets up, says appreciate you coming out, and when you're ready to hear an offer, give me a call. We're looking at each other like wtf, say our pleasant good byes and appreciation for the interest and head for the car. We get in the car and my son cuts loose on a colorful rant, saying I can't believe he had us drive over here this time of day, you two knocking off work early, only to think he's the horse whisperer and going to walk away without giving me an offer, F him, he's a dick and I'd never play for that SoB. All my wife could say at the time was, quit cussing. Son got his revenge multiple times against them and he always had a little extra juice when he faced them. 2019, at Lupton, the win Friday, the save Saturday and the win on Sunday. Was proud my son could read people the way he could.

My twitter feed had been heavy on Texas social media since the Schloss fiasco and it ramped up with the FB game. I don't even know where I would start my rant on Schloss because the anger and disgust is all over the place.
He has embraced being over there and has no remorse on how he left and the damage he did to the program, players, and fans. You can see that it's a joke to him, his family, and Texas Ath Dept. In hindsight, there were red flags everywhere…his introductory press conference, calling out fans for loyalty, final press conference. A&M was never his dream job…we were his way out of Ft Worth after his personal life needed a reset. He dipped at the worst time possible, with no hesitation and that will always leave me questioning how intentional was the way he exited.
I don't think I have this much disgust and disdain for someone I personally don't know…but I would be fine with that man never seeing another ounce of success. The worst part is that he is a winner and he will find his success at Texas. He has the ability to be their next Augie.

Being a mostly unbiased 3rd party with only reading his paragraph to go on... (who does think making a big deal about driving from Southlake to TCU is absurd...I'm from grapevine and went to TCU), it sounds to me Schloss called and said "hey lets talk about an offer" and then they showed up and somewhere in that conversation, Coach got the impression that y'all weren't that serious about TCU and allll those other offers were more important. Something in that conversation went.. wrong... or the coach wants people who want to play for TCU and wants the ask.
I know lots of people who interview people and won't offer the job unless the interviewee specifically asks for the job during the interview. Probably should take it as a lesson learned, but when he said call me when you want to talk about the offer, he should have said "How about now?"
That being said, Schloss is a jackass and I've been thinking that longer than any of y'all.

I also dont really know that many people who got half a dozen plus offers, sit on them for weeks, then verbally commit, then sign. Completely different scenario.

no, that's requesting the interview.
At the end of any interview, you should absolutely say "Based on X, Y, and Z that we discussed today, do you believe that I would be a good fit for this job?"

We can't all be blamed for being excited and optimistic about the makeover nearly any new regime might try to put on a program. I'd heard from a college umpire something that made me kind of glad we hadn't hired Vitello when we hired Schloss.
So I remember telling my son's travel ball coach (who had been an Omaha college player and a good MiLB player, not to give too much more away here) how glad I was that we'd gotten Schloss instead of Tony V. He respectfully disagreed, "Why? Vitello's players would run through a brick wall for him." So…the players know.
I don't want to take away from what Schloss rejuvenated here at A&M. I don't really mind a coach playing the role of bad cop if he is smart enough to surround himself with good cops.. But.. I'm not going to miss how he found ways to critique our fans on occasion and I'm not going to miss his son acting-a-fool and having to be reigned in by the ushers / other fans / coaches' wives in section 110.
So dang glad that Earley wanted to stay here bad enough to go for it without fear that Schloss would hurt his career if he didn't win our head job. I hope Mike is our head man for a very long time.

Hate Schloss as a human but I will always be thankful for the 2022 and 2024 seasons. Furthest we've ever gone and it really did feel like we belonged in the final four of college baseball and didn't just luck into an Omaha run

Bear with me, this may be confusing for you, but a date and an interview are very similar ..you go to a place, you sit down and talk to each other about your shared goals and interests, then at the end of this interaction, you both evaluate whether or not you should pursue the relationship any further.
A first date is a double-interview, sure.
…but a job interview is only one way. The interviewee has already expressed interest in the position by applying for the position, but the hiring company doesn't know squat about the interviewee save a page of self-guaranteed data.

Disagree. An interview is absolutely a two way conversation. There is a ton of information I learn about companies through the interview process. I have turned down many offers due to not liking what I experienced or learned during the interview, or compensation detail that comes later. And as a leader, I could only wish every applicant I've offered a job to takes it.TexasRebel said:

As much as I despise schlossbag, I doubt this is how that went down especially considering the end of this post and how that did not happen. So he's saying his son (wherever he ended up) got the win Friday, the save Saturday, and the win Sunday.
