There have been a ton of missed pp for folks who have had season tickets since the early 90's and earlier

Also, maybe considerations for PP's earned from baseball season ticket support could be made by the 12thman when reseating occurs?
The only reason that they will do a reseating is that, right now, if someone wants to give $1 million to the baseball renovation project, they can't even offer these folks four seats in general seating as a way to reward them. They have to do something to remedy that.

My suggestion is that they do the reseating after renovation in two phases; phase one would be existing season ticket holders and major donors (set the cutoff high enough so that it's less than 100, and preferably closer to 50); then, the rest of the seats (hopefully, double what we have now) would be open to everyone. Both groups would select by priority points, so the guys who have points right now but have only been able to get singles will be able to get seats together. Everyone would likely be shuffled around; some a little and some a lot. But you would reward major donors for making the project possible, and reward loyalty of existing season ticket holders while giving everyone a chance to get in.

PP's did not exist in the 90's for anything did they? I am asking because I truly dont know? I do know i purchased my first FB season tix for the '90 season and PP's did not exist. Just not sure when the PP plan actually started.

I don't remember which year they actually came up with the program, but I believe that they retroactively awarded points back to 1993 when they did it.

Not sure when it started, but they gave credit for seasons before it started for football, basketball, athletic ambassador, , number years donating including the Aggie Club, etc.- but not baseball, which is why I mentioned it.

Not a terrible idea but we both know that won't happen. No way they can tell the big money guys from across the street, assuming they want seats, they can't have them. That said, it's a such a niche sport for the masses. Not sure how many of them really want tickets. I was a few hours away from getting them this year and am in the 4000s in rank.

I get what you are saying but if the cut off is 100 or less new potential season ticket holders you will literally be telling a donor who already donated 1 million+ dollars to the 12thman to wait in line.

Im pretty sure that will not go over so well

There are some big money guys who recognize the problem. Question is, will their voices be heard when the decision is made. I understand that the former head coach was aware of the potential problems arising from a reseating. I hope Earley takes an interesting the subject.

If we reward the folks who, say, gave money for the football indoor practice facility but don't pony up for this project, that would be a huge mistake. That's exactly the kind of bandwagon behavior that has to be avoided. The top 100 donors buying say 300 tickets (assume they won't all buy four) would be about 10% of our current season ticket bloc. Thats a pretty big displacement.

You have to consider the # of season tickets will increase significantly if and when reconstruction occurs so the impact would be less. But the premium seating displacement potential of existing season ticket holders would still exist.

I have a friend who I help sell tickets for when he cant go. He has been a season tcket holder for over 30 years

He knows he likely wont have his setas when reno is done. He has also had family health issues for a few years.

He also practically can never sell for money his mid week tickets much less for a profit.

season tickets arent just face value and to break even you sell big series at higher rate

So when you talk about huge profits I dont see it for the season...maybe a series or two but not huge ROI overall

And the empty seats you see on TV are not being resold at all

I agree with this. I posted it somewhere, but am too lazy to find it. They need to set some minimum capital contribution to the baseball project specifically, say $500k or $1MM. If you do that, you get to choose your 4 seats first. Next, all current season ticket holders get to choose their 4 seats in PP order. After that, they open up seats to everyone else in PP order.

how many new (season ticket) seats is the renovation supposed to add?

It won't be that many. A lot of the increased capacity will be general admission or standing room. We would be doing good to double our current number of season tickets, which is under 3,000. We just don't have enough room on the tract.

You're right. I didn't read closely, I was just talking about total additional seats.

I think that just anyone that wants season tickets will be able to get them after the expansion. Might not get your pick of location, but will get inside the park.

"I think that just anyone that wants season tickets will be able to get them after the expansion. Might not get your pick of location, but will get inside the park."

This is my line of thinking as well. The fuss will not be over if tickets can be acquired, the dust up will be over location by existing season ticket holders

Personally i would love to be on the 3rd base side for shade purposes and have been trying since my acquisition of season tickets over a decade ago.

Agreed.

At this point, I'd just love for some news on the expansion.

I think that will be true, although it might take a season or two for things to normalize. There could be a gold rush mentality at the start. When Kyle Field was reseated, I started out on the 25 yard line but was able to move to the 45 yard line a couple of years later.

Great idea. My hunch is the threshold would be on the lower side of this number. 1 million would put you near the current top 200 donors in cumulative priority points. So, that seems a tad high but who knows. Also, getting 50 guys even at 500k seems high given the # of the last round of Kyle Field (and other facilities). Also, those South End Zone suites required 1mm donation (if I recall), so $1 mm just seems high for 4 seats in the club.

Excuse my French, but this is the s**t that I'm talking about! Whoever this person is should lose their tickets. I know I know before you all go in on me, there's not many that do it. But can we all agree that this is screwed up?

Yes.. my son says that several students got sent to honor council for reselling tickets for over sticker. Why can a season ticket holder go 3x before game 1 and a student can't.

In part because student tickets are cheaper because of alumni donations.

it shouldn't be too hard to sell over face value as a student without getting caught.
