Agree with bleh.
Not making excuses but without the weather we have a grand slam and I believe a 2 run home run. We would have won easily.
Biggest concern for me is defense. We look sloppy.
Impressed with Galloway.
no, but my point was they only lost one game over the series playing in brutal weather that is simply not conducive to good baseball.SteveA said:

No it does not. You can't throw some non-sense comment into your post and then expect people to take your other comments seriously.AustinCountyAg said:

This past weekend the team played in about the worst weather possible friday and saturday for baseball. Not to mention the Tuesday game was cancelled. It is EARLY in the year. This happens to all teams. Let the boys settle and some of yall need to take a deep breath. If the team would've won yesterday the thread never would have popped up. The defense will by fine and the hitting is legit. They were squaring up a ton of balls this weekend that on a normal day would be doubles and home runs.
I'm sorry but don't expect people to take you serious if you don't think all teams are going to experience up and downs throughout the entire year. A&M is ranked #1 in the nation with a first year head coach. God forbid the team struggles to find there footing and settle into the season. The pressure for everyone on that team and coaching staff is beyond anything they've ever felt in there life.txaggie02 said:No it does not. A&M is averaging 6.7 runs per game over 7 games. 2 of those 7 games were only 7 innings.
Tennessee is averaging 13.125 runs per game over 8 games. 5 of those 8 games were only 7 innings.
Florida State is averaging 9.85 runs per game over 7 games.
Florida is averaging 10 runs per game over 8 games. 4 of those 8 games were only 7/8 innings.
As you can clearly see, it doesn't "happen to all teams". The bottom line is that our plate attempts look absolutely horrendous. Sometimes flat out embarrassing. Our starting pitching has been pretty solid (given the lower level of talent we have faced), but as a complete team, we haven't looked like a top 25 squad for one second through 7 games. The sky isn't falling, but it's extremely concerning and something definitely needs to change starting Friday in Houston.
I'll finish it off by saying that if you want to win a National Championship, then you need to do something different than all the other teams and not lump yourself into what they are doing.
Makes me almost not want to browse threads anymore. I try to keep it simple.....regardless of expectations, rankings, injuries, win-loss records....days with Aggie baseball are better than days without Aggie baseball.Mr.Ackar07 said:

Look, you were the one that said it's EARLY in the season and it happens to all teams in back to back sentences. Exact words. Yours, not mine. I just thought it was a senseless statement (which it is) that I completely don't agree with. And rather than just say it's stupid, I figured I would take the time to show you that it's not just my opinion, but rather a fact that starting slow early in the season DOES NOT happen to all teams. Most of the best teams don't start slow like you can clearly see, if you look at the scoreboards from around the country. A bad game here and there? Absolutely. 6-7 poor games in a row right out of the gate from any team in the top 25? Not so much. It's a problem.AustinCountyAg said:I'm sorry but don't expect people to take you serious if you don't think all teams are going to experience up and downs throughout the entire year. I don't understand why you posted hitting stats for multiple teams that show 7 games worth of stats? All that tells me is that those teams got off to a hot first week at the plate. I dont care. Those numbers in all likelihood will drop when they face some better pitching and go through a rough patch like all teams do.
Will the Aggies offense suck all year? possibly. Will the teams you listed above continue to rake all year? possibly so. Either way I'm not putting a ton of stock into the first seven games of the year.
Thank you for noticing! very weird to say the least. He's stealing my stars!Thisguy1 said:
Why'd you copy someone else's post and pass it off as your own? That's kinda weird, right?
You guys are arguing semantics, and both have fair comments. I think the point is every team goes through slumps during a season. Some are more streaky than others. We apparently have come out of the gates in a slump relative to the other teams quoted. Those other teams will have comparable numbers to ours over 7 game stretches during the season as well. Biggest question is 'when do we get our production up'. Without knowing that and it being so early definitely creates anxiety. But ultimately we're still a ways yet to determine what the aggregate will tell us. Starting pitching is great, bull pen is thin. But bats are going to need better production soon. No reason to think they won't with this talent. The fun is in the journey, best to not get to high or too low while on it.txaggie02 said:Look, you were the one that said it's EARLY in the season and it happens to all teams in back to back sentences. I understand why you're saying what you are, but you're take my original post out of context. I said it was 'EARLY" in the year because it is/was when I posted it. They had lost only one game at the time and only had played 5 total for the season, and it was a full blown meltdown by many posters. Not to mention the weather the previous two games was absolute dog crap which makes it hard to get a good feel for anything.txaggie02 said:Look, you were the one that said it's EARLY in the season and it happens to all teams in back to back sentences. I don't like the plate approach. We're not making them work. There seems to be too many fielding errors too
