#2 kid on this list is one of my son's best friends and lives three houses away from us here in Amarillo. I knew he was really good and had heard he might be top 50-100 nationally ranked but this is the first ranking like this I had seen. How can I see if the coaches are interested in him and get him to Texas A&M.

Coaches can't contact him until the summer before his junior season. He can go to camps and stuff and they can see him at showcases but not much else. If he's that good the coaches will find him but the recruiting game has changed a lot. The #1 kid, Esquivel "committed" to LSU before the new recruiting rules took effect and baseball recruiting was notorious for kids "committing" as 8th & 9th graders and having offers yanked as seniors because they didn't develop.

My oldest is a 2028 as well. He missed the summer showcases & fall ball rehabbing a torn ACL and surgery back in May but is 6'1" 205 and hitting 84 off the bump a couple weeks ago, is supposed to be 6'4"-6'5", and won't be 15 until July. He plays HS ball with the #10 kid on that list.

Crazy thing is there a 5 2028 kids at my son's HS who are all throwing in the 80's- from one kid throwing 88 down to the last being 81. I'll be shocked if 4 of them aren't 92-93 by their junior seasons. The 5th is 5'11" and is probably about done growing. The other 4 are all 6'1" - 6'4". Kids are built different today.

This kid apparently throws in the 90's already and isn't even 15 yet

That's elite. There's probably fewer than 20 kids in the country that can do that. Probably fewer than that even.

Just take care of the arm. There's a lot of research out there pointing to kids throwing that hard that young are the most at risk of injury.

And if he's throwing that hard and continues to project he won't play college ball. How tall are the parents? Kid is listed as 6'2" from what I've seen. Having those long levers makes it easier to throw harder with less stress.

His parents are pretty protective of him and his arm so that's good. He might be taller than his dad now so not sure he will grow too much more but he's still so young. He's really strong though. He's the #2 qb for the high school (5A) and can throw it a mile. It will be interesting if he will continue to play football. His focus is definitely baseball and for good reason apparently

Valentin Ceballos is also a dude. He's in our Banditos program. On the mound he's was low 90's at 14u.

Nah.

More and better training and understanding of nutrition. My oldest is focused on eating clean with lots of protein. We didn't do that 30 years ago.

Plus, there's breeding. My old man has shrunk a little now that he's in his late-70's but he was 6'0" and my mother as 5'6" before shrinking a bit. I'm 6'3" and my wife is 5'8"- our oldest projects to 6'3"-6'4" and the youngest to 6'3". Tall people marry tall people and produce tall kids.

Another thing to remember is that you have to have the kid signed up through the NCAA Eligibility Clearinghouse to have any contact with college coaches.

Assuming the House Settlement gets approved (a HUGE if), there are lots of changes incoming. I would not expect a lot of that 20+ million the first year to go to baseball, but at our school it could be more rather than less. Right now agents can only represent for external NIL. But there is no way that will continue that way if the current House Settlement is approved. So he needs good legal advice...
