What's been the offseason story on Cunningham? For some reason I expected to see him as a starter or high leverage reliever. I thought he looked good out there tonight and just realized that it was his first appearance.

We have a lot of talented arms that Earley and Kelly are trying to figure out where they fit. Also, I suspect we would've seen Cunningham last Tuesday had the game not been canceled.

My understanding is had a injury was recovering from. Once he was cleared then have a opportunity to lock down a Mid-Week starter role & also push to be in the mix on the weekend in some capacity.

No, not that I remember at least. My wife is an Oregon state alum, so we get to watch quite a few Beavers games every year. But I at least don't remember if he came in during a UW-OSU game. Most of my interest was that he was a big pull from the west coast where pitchers seem to stay home more often than the big hitting prospects. So I have high hopes for how he'll fit in.
