Remember what we lost from last year or at least what we remember from last June:

Montgomery-one of the best pure hitters in BB, One of the best relief pitchers in BB who asked the NCAA to come back another year- was denied then NCAA changed their mind after the MLB draft, an above average catcher, a traitor of a head coach who had over 950 wins (new one had zero), a pitching coach who was in charge of player development for an entire MLB organization, a hitting coach who is learning a new trade....
And a few injuries: Stewart, Sdao, Sorrell, and Gavin, to name a few.

Drop us out of the top 10...this is a different team that needs to earn those accolades. Let's see what got.

Good news: it is Early in the season, and I'd rather have growing pains now than in late May/June. We do have a lot of good transfers...now let's watch them mold this team into a contender...not rely on plug and play from our memories of last June.

Time will tell if these are just Early season growing pains. Sure hope so.

Also fair.

I thought our pitching would be what we need to really work on but it's our offense. No reason we should have dropped those two games.

I have a gut feeling that we'll see a massive turnaround the next games.

Good pitching changes a lot. The bench needs to figure it out quickly. Several pitchers absolutely could not find the zone, which is quite the departure from what we came to expect last season. Last year, it felt like the bullpen was dialed in from the get-go, which is a credit to Max Weiner.

Troubling signs early, but it's a new coaching and pitching staff. Got the whole season ahead of them.

We won't know until 3/4 of the way through SEC play just how good or bad we are. This is baseball after all. These games are entirely meaningless.

Just my thoughts - this team is not 2024v2 - Tuesday night there was only Kaeden and Jace from last years starters on the field. The defensive play was flawless for the first time this year (zero errors). This group of exceptional players and Aggies will find their way and make their own history. With TK, Jamar, Wyatt, Myles, Gavin2, Jacob and the rest this season will be fine. Now throw the "Rattlin Bog" in the hole with the Pringles can and the hotel baggage cart and write your own story for this year! Appreciate what last years team accomplished but this is your year!! Gig em.
