There needs to be some serious considerations with the lineup. There is zero chemistry right now between all of these guys. Sorrell can't come back soon enough, I feel that would give us some more options at least with moving people around.
Also, binderup needs to see the bench and Bergervin needs a chance. Binderup doesn't give me any confidence he will play well against SEC teams.

This could very well end up being the case. But, no one knows if or who any of the big names we may have wanted or reached out to turned us down. ( poor sentence I know) Early was the comparatively cheap and easy choice.

This team is a (very) long way from crushing anyone. Cal Poly is nothing special and any team worth a damn will make Texas state look like nothing. This season as well.

Had some good swings that found a glove and they had some bad ones that didn't. We score 30 more runs this weekend.

For everyone bemoaning the Earley hire, where were you back in the summer when he was hired? Also who would you have hired? Now that you have a name or two, do you really think we might have been able to pull off such a coup in a timely enough manner in which we could have kept most of the talent that produced the hype?

The only other coach that had a chance was Vitello but he turned us down. We came close but ultimately, he wanted to stay.
We need to find our closer.
No body is sunshine pumping anything. And this pumper - banger argument is old and tired and quite frankly boring. But it is notable how many just *****. They are never here in any other situation but to ***** and gloat about how much they knew it. Like I said miserable people who only want others to join them in misery.

I'd rather us be cold to start the season, and turn it up for conference play, and get a regional host.
If you wanna see a team that started hot, and is on the downhill slide, see men's hoops. Sports is a streaky thing, especially baseball.

Actually, I find it to be just the opposite. Avid fans are usually fanatical about the quest for wins and championships. We want the best outcome for our teams and players. Sunshine pumpers come across as much less fanatical and more whatever happens is fine. I can take it or leave it or maybe even walk away if I don't like how things are going.

It's very sweet and thoughtful, you are 100% right. It tells me the relationship between coach and player is more of friend/big brother than college baseball coach. It would be more normal for that sort of gratitude to be shown years after you are done playing, not at the pitchers mound 5 min after the game is over.
They really like him, that's great, it just seems over the top to me.

I don't know about fine, if you're talking about using him as a closer. He appears to give up too much hard contact. But, he does throw strikes which is a positive. And to be fair, the defense definitely let him down his last two outings.

This is not the problem. Striking out 13 times, 6 looking is the problem. Seeking walks instead of barreling pitches in the zone is the problem. Misjudging outfield fly balls is the problem. Tonight, poor base coaching is the problem. Middle relief not throwing strikes is the problem. Upper classmen and some talented transfers pressing and wildly underproducing is the problem.
It can turn around but right now we are trending the opposite way at an alarming rate.
