From a UF perspective, great test for two really good teams early, but winning the series without Rothrock was huge for us, we had no pitching behind her last year. May have cost us a title.
The fourth pitcher you saw today, Hammock has as good of stuff as anyone on our roster, but she got in the doghouse for walks and HBPs. Almost cost her today again at the end of the game but she came through. That's why you saw her being mobbed after the game, the team knows what she is capable of and we're happy for her.
Our fielding has been down this year compared to previous years, and was the reason for the winning run on Friday, but hopefully getting better. 2 great plays on the seventh today helped. But if Keagan comes back healthy, this is the best team we've had in awhile.
If you can find a second pitcher you are right there with any team in the country. Still time for someone to bubble up, but all the other pieces seem to be there. Hitting, speed, defense, first starter etc. maybe we will see each other in OKC.
