The answer is no. There is no correlation to a player's uniform number for a specific organization and their performance.
If someone can prove this inaccurate with some data, I will defer to them and remove my post. The premise is statistically ridiculous.

I don't doubt your analysis. If you're talking about a random number. When it's no. 12 and the coach tells you to wear it because he wants to to be the team leader and set an example for the other players there just might be more pressure that goes with that than some guys want.

Jace's struggling and he's predicted to be top 5 draft pick. Schott will be fine along with Jace. Schott has a good swing and will get better.

I hate the use of "12th Man" outside of football. As the 12th Man Foundation is running athletics, I realize I'm on the losing side, but it's all about marketing and selling. There is no history or tradition with the number 12 outside of football.

Kind of agree with this. Wearing 12 is an unnecessary burden unless you are a football walk-on. No need to separate yourself from the team, kind of in contrast to the intent.

I see giving the number 12 as akin to making that player the Captain of the team. Looked at it that way I'm OK with it but since POS started it, I would be OK if we did away with it.

Someone on X asked which number should be retired next (in reference to 4 in basketball being honored). My answer was 12 in baseball #endthecurse.

I think many of us are genuinely asking the same thing right now.

I think it is possible that they start pressing in part because of the added dimension attached. And in baseball pressing is not the answer

12 curse does not apply to Claunch.

You can't change Schott's number now, because the shaved heads are working with that number. That would obviously change the mojo.

Launch was fine with it and he was a year 1 player wearing it. He didn't really grasp what it meant like Bost and Targac. Schott just trying to hard pressing right now. He's showing signs of life but if they get rid of it, I'm not going to be upset.
