This offense has been consistently terrible so far this year and it more than likely will continue through conference play.

I have seen all the games and if you cannot see how many lazy flyballs and pop ups this team hits then enjoy SEC play because it's gonna be a long season.

Legit curious if those of you that don't like this stuff watch or follow modern college or pro baseball outside of Aggie broadcasts?
Because scoring runs and ultimately winning games correlates very strongly with the stuff Brauny touches during the broadcast. wRC+, OPS+, or even just play ol' xBH are pretty good indicators...
Terrible take. Brauny does a tremendous job at commentary. He provides insight while keeping the discussion naturally conversational. He knows a ton about ball and is a great presence during the broadcast.

That is by far the most annoying. It's one thing to offer color commentary but the sunshine pumping is not necessary.
Id rather my broadcasters be this blunt on the radio than continously sunshine pumping. He does a great job otherwise but don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining. Be blunt and honest.

It's the scoring runs part that we are mad about
We have scored 4 runs or less in 8 out of 15 games against not that great of competition

Brauny knows where he gets paid. He knows baseball. I think someone in the AD office said to stop being honest and be more positive and he is struggling with it.

All I'm saying is Vince Scully had a way of knowing when silence is fitting and when to talk. Brauninger needs to learn that. You don't have to fill all of the air time with talk. Silence can be .. well .. golden. He's not bad, but he could be better. And we don't need to hear what he thinks every second of the game.
I have listened to several A&M games with Brauny on the mic and have never thought he talked too much. He knows more about BBall than I'll ever know and I enjoy him

I get where OP is coming from if you subscribe to that specific style. There was definitely a time when it was popular. But I prefer the approach of offering lots of info, and I can choose what to tune out. I like it because he teaches the game as two friends would be talking. There is no ego charge in delivering his knowledge.

I feel bad for him. a month ago, he was about to call a season for the #1 team in the country and the favorite to win our first national championship in a major sport in any of our lifetimes.
A month later we are #139 in RPI, and we have 6 losses to some teams that barely have a program.

I couldn't disagree more, I think Brauny has been doing a phenomenal job and I look forward to when he is on the call.
A lot of comments regarding how much he talks about exit velocity and the North wind, it's pretty simple lol. When a team that was struggling to hit at all to begin the year like we did, 100+ mph outs (pop up or line drives) are signs of massive improvement. Which is all he is trying to convey. It's not his fault there have been so many balls caught at the warning track due to wind, it has been an egregious amount to start the year.
Also, my favorite comment in baseball is when people assume lazy pop up = swinging for the fences. Nothing beats that one.

I actually like the exit velo numbers. Of course I am engineer so I like numbers. But you only need a low 90s exit velo with the right trajectory to hit one out. So when a guy hits one over 107mph and it doesn't leave at least you know he hit it hard.
On the other hand we don't need to be reminder of the wind on every ball. A few times at the beginning of the game is enough.
Whats sad is the lack of adjustment by our players and coaches. If you play ball long enough you will run into these games. There are ways to make adjustments to flatten out swings. Also keep the hands inside the ball and try to drive it to right or lefties work on pulling it. Coaches bunt more, add more speed to the lineup, try and manufacture runs. Use pitchers that generate more fly balls vs ground ball pitchers. Lets use the thing above our shoulders.
