This is not turning around this season. What an absolute waste of the best talent we've ever had on campus.
You seem to forget how banged up this team is. 3 of those "best talented" guys are out. 2 potentially for the year. This ISN'T and never was the #1 team in college baseball. That was a 100% healthy version of this team. This one has younger guys filling big holes and would have never been given that #1 ranking if it had been known. Im getting tired of this narrative that this team is a failure when they aren't actually, literally, the team we thought we would have. Losing the 2 bats and the arm we thought we would have is a massive deal. Think of it like losing half of your OL or more and maybe a few skills guys in football. This isn't that "#1 team". And that's not to mention Sdao. People, this is a different team. Get used to that now. Sure, if Earley or Kelly deserve to be criticized tonight for a poor coaching decision, fine! Hopefully they learn from it and go on. This team can win the next 2.
If we were just slumping against SEC competition, I'd give this to you. But there's no excuse for the performance we've had to date against the competition faced.
This team doesn't lack talent, it lacks fire in the belly. The ho-hum, lackadaisical attitude in the dug out it what aggrivates me the most. TK, Kent, and Hensler seem be to the only ones in the line up who give a damn. Since I learned Farr is a fish I've given him more of a pass and he's starting to turn a corner.
I've followed Aggie baseball since the Spring of 2002. I told my 14 yr old daughter just tonight that heck, I've loved Aggie baseball longer (but not more than) her.
That said, I can't think of a worse offense we've ran out there in all those 23 years. And the stats back it up. We are dead last in batting average in the SEC against absolutely mediocre pitching. Someone pump me some sunshine cause I'm not sure I can make this season. I liked it a lot better when it at least felt like amatuer baseball. Just like Jimbo, the more money we dole out the less we get in return.
