Yeah, I'm just not feeling the sincerity of a prayer written by a university committee or PR team.

Maybe we've found the culprit for the poor start? We never had an invocation at baseball games until this year.

I find it odd, honestly. Texas A&M is a public university, not a religious school. Lots of Aggies are Christians, but also, lots aren't.

At first, I thought it was a special "Opening Day" invocation. Which, OK, fine. Then they kept doing it. Then I went to a basketball game for the first time this season, and they did it there, too! It might be something that's been incorporated into all the sports; I don't know. I'm not really in favor of it.

They've been doing it at football for years now, but with someone else (not the PA guy) reading it. Some administrator probably just decided that we needed to do it in all sports.

I was there for 2 out of the 3 games this weekend. The crowds were still in it and doing the normal stuff. The two ninth innings of games 1 and 2 were defeating and deflating, but overall I still had a great time!

The prayers at football are pre-recorded...one male and one female...and they rotate each week.

We went to two games this weekend and had fun. It was my first time back for baseball since the 80's. I've been to plenty of SEC championships, and the last weekend of the world series last year. It was my non-aggie husband's first time at any Aggies baseball. The atmosphere is better than at non-Olsen field games. I don't have anything else to measure it against. Yes, winning is more fun than loosing. But, we still enjoyed ourselves.

Hubs is STILL telling everyone how much fun the whole "ouch" thing was with the Bama pitcher. I think for our annual visit next year, we'll try to time it with several sports, not just one. It would have been great to watch softball.

Yeah, some gump tried to talk **** to my kids yesterday when they were leaving. Something about "y'all aren't embarrassed to be wearing those jerseys"

Before I could say anything, Malcolm told him "at least I don't have to live in Alabama"

What a legend!!

Sure. Let's blame this start on a prayer. I would think, unbelievable, but this is TexAgs and y'all never disappoint.

Why? You're not in favor of injury free baseball and safe travels home? That's basically what this prayer is.

I just think it's unnecessary. We haven't needed it in the past.

I don't think it's necessary at football or other sports either.

Well, we'll agree to disagree. I think prayer is necessary and the more places, the better.

Is there still a shirtless kid dancing, pissing off all the olds?

Saw him for the first time on Sunday. We were hoping he had entered puberty and had discovered hanging around girls was much better than irritating olds. It's a long season so we can still hope.

Prayer itself, yes.

A boilerplate prayer crafted by the athletic dept to use at all sports games, no.

I do plenty of praying. I don't care that we have this one, I just don't think we need it.

Have only made a couple of games this year, none since Cal Poly. But listening on Sunday on a long drive back to Houston, the Raggies still sounded pretty chirpy at least

Filling in pretty nicely for a Tuesday evening. Pitchers doing pitcher stuff in the outfield. Music loud. Kids mobbing the players and watching for them to chat or get an autograph. Feels like baseball so far.

I can't remember a worse Aggie Athletics disaster when the hype was as high as it was.

Actively have to be trying to perform this poorly.

What turns this team around?

It was great Friday night for the bama game until the back to back home runs in the 9th
