I think she was her team's offensive MVP twice in HS. She can hit. She has PR'ed a LOT in her Aggie career but not a lot of AB's so nice to see her do so well !!

Ags win 13-1. Not a clean game for Lefty but some really hard hit balls and a lot of bench players got AB's. Kelsey and Hailey both had hits with Hailey's a 2 RBI single!

TN scores 3 in the top of the 8th and holds on to defeat OU 5-2. Both teams had 8 hits and 0 errors.

Poor home plate ump didn't have his best night.

I checked the box score and TN writeup this morning after their win over OU. Oppo research, if you will. It was Sam Landry's first loss of the season for OU. 3 BB, 2 SO 1 WP. More walks than SO's, unusual for her. TN is the last SEC series for the Ags this year, at their place.

A few quotes from the writeup:

Nugent played for OU her freshman and sophomore years. Ranked as the No. 3 player in the class of 2021 by Extra Inning Softball and Softball America. Ranked as the No. 1 catcher in the class by Extra Innings. How many Top 10 players does OU get every year? Quite a few.

"Nugent's heroics wouldn't have been possible without an incredible defensive play from sophomore Gabby Leach in the bottom of the seventh. Sounds like our outfielders! She's from the Woodlands, same as Lefty. Rated as the No. 12 prospect in the country according to Extra Inning Softball. And then you have this (how many of you have seen the famous movie with Tom Hanks?):

LMU sat on that lineup challenge until after the at bat thinking they had one on us. Curious if the ump actually did report it to LMU - was definitely announced over the loudspeaker ahead of the AB.

Looks like Lessentine and DeeDee get the start today. Everyone else the same. I thought Sidne or Lessentine would be the Saturday pitcher for conference play, leaning toward Sidne because of more experience and she's pretty darn good but Lessentine is working out pretty well, too.

Only Aggies without an AB last night, other than pitchers, were freshman Harley Vestal and redshirt freshman Reagan Jones. Wonder if we will see them tonight? Hope so!

Just turned the game on and they are live already. The crowd is pretty sparse so far about 10 minutes before first pitch.

Baseball and soccer playing at home today. Might have a wee bit to do with it. Just a wee bit.

I know, but I sure wish more softball fans would show up. There are a lot of empty reserved seats.

My complaint of old - empty reserved seats. I wish there was a simple way for those not showing up to make their seats available to others.

It's a gorgeous day too. I was really hoping to go, but I am really behind on work . I was trying to get some quotes out but some are just taking longer than I would like.
