I think Earley almost has the right lineup now. With Sorrell replacing Farr, this is a massive improvement in the lineup both defensively and offensively.

If we can beat Kentucky and get Sorrell full-time by TN, we have a very realistic opportunity to get back into the playoff hunt.

I know Farr has great potentional. But clearly this kid needs another year to develop and handle the in-game pressure situations. With Sorrell in the line-up, I truly believe we start winning SEC series consistently.

I want whatever your on.

Sorrell has not seen live pitching in two months. You think he is just going to stroll into the box and be an All SEC OF?

Also you don't think he is going to feel pressure to perform with the droves of Aggies clamoring for his return as if he is the savior for this baseball season?

You may want to tamper expectations. The team still made 4 errors in the game last night. They won't beat good teams that way.

We also need to get Prager back in the groove.

You think our conference play hinges on a single player? That's a lot of pressure to put on him.

No. But I see this as taking away holes in the lineup. Just a 2 weeks ago the bottom of the lineup was a black hole. We inserted Harrison, Royo, and eventually Sorrell. I do see this being a boost to the team.

Prager got bombed, for Prager anyways, and we had 4 errors. Gonna need a lot of hitting to overcome such things. Let's hope these guys can get their minds right and start playing to their potential.

I mean Minnich provided a spark for 2023. Granted that team was in a better position.

I think we will be better with Sorrell but yeah one player doesn't make a team/offense

He gave up

4 ER in 7 innings vs Alabama
4 ER in 7 innings vs Vanderbilt
7 ER in 3 innings vs Kentucky

SEC ERA is 7.41

Not what you'd expect from Preseason SEC Pitcher of the Year.

I love the kid, but he's had a really disappointing start to the season, and I bet he'd tell you that himself.

Couldn't help myself and say I knew it.

Yes, one player can make a MASSIVE difference and help spark a massive turnaround!

Not proven yet but no denying the impact of Sorrell coming back as I anticipated. GIGem! And keep up this hot streak!!

True… but also the emergence of Bear and Royo have played just as big of a factor. It takes more than one player getting hot and we saw that yesterday. Sorrell has definitely made a difference

Looking at this after the Tennessee series, Sorrell has come out of the box and killed itfour HRs in six games. Batting a .384, as well as slugging .913. Sorrell has been fantastic since he started hitting again. I can't wait to see him back in the outfield when he's 100%. Oh, that's right, he's still not at 100%.

Of course, I have to go back to this! And hopefully you see this again and again! Sorrell with the game winning opposite field barrelled monster! Sorry Gamecocks...NOT.

Bear is been freaking huge, too. Royo struggled a bit. My biggest concern is actual Kent. He looks a bit lost, almost like Binderup (who was great today).

Lets get the sweep and clean it up. Zero reason we should have been in extra innings vs the Gamecocks.

GigEm!!

Sorrell has 12 H, 5 of which are HR, and 10 RBI in 30 ABs this year.
Hard to overstate what a jolt he's been to the lineup.

On Kent, the law of averages is just evening out. He's had one great month in 3 years as an Aggie. What we saw from him last post season was just a heater. He's not going to hit .300+ in a full season.

Yes Kent is struggling but we are turning into a team. This includes Earley who is getting better each game. Replacing Farr with George is one of those things hopefully we look back on in a few months and recall wow that one play saved us from opening a bunch of doubt and negativity. Instead he robs the guy of a homerun.
Binderup has been struggling badly but he carried the load until Sorrell got it done.
Truly a team win and those are ones you have to get at home,

I might be overly optimistic, but I actually felt like Prager took a step forward. At least up to the last hr.

He is struggling to hit his spots, but there were flashes tonight especially from the 5th on.

It's still not good enough, but I think better.

Kent needs to relax and just do what he can do. Hopefully, other players getting hot with him down in the 7 spot will allow him to do that. He certainly had a great postseason last year, but he isn't going to post numbers like that over the long term.

I agree. It was 2 steps forward and one step back, but that's better than one step forward and two steps back. He had occasional bad outings last year and always responded.

the better Sorrell performs...the more likely the committee will give A&M forgiveness for the part of the season he missed

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yes keep playing Defense we know he can get it done. We know he can perform but also help with other ways making the routine plays and leading the infield is important.

Just like Binderup last night he stepped up big time and carried us. He bailed us out after the bottom of the first we let them off the hook.

We are turning into a team now and kids are having fun again.

Prager battled but he also is a touch slower on the velo which is a problem, where even at 91 he can get a swing and miss at high fb now at 88-89 batters foul that off and work count to their advantage. Maybe its mechanical issue maybe its fatigue.
RED AG 98

I agree. He battled last night. I think he's struggled putting folks away this year, more than I remember from last year. His BB numbers are still very good, so the control is still there, just way to many hits when he's ahead in the count and fewer K's.

He's still swinging out of his shoes. I wish he dial back the swing speed a touch and go with the pitch. Start with getting on base, which he really hasn't done at all in league play this year.

I think it's overly optimistic. Teams like Arkansas, LSU, and Texas could put up 8+ on him and those are the types of teams we have to beat later in the season in the postseason to make any sort of run. We're going to have to win despite him like we did last night.

His velocity and movement are both down a lot compared to last year.
