Was Maryland ranked #1 to start the season? That needs to be in your comparison summary. Each coach inherited a completely different team.

As simple as this. I cannot imagine Earley seeing a Year 2 unless he makes a run for the playoffs. Right now, he looks destine to not be here next year.

And to think that A&M is a baseball program where a young, rookie coach can come to learn how to become a good HC over the course of several years is INSANITY. If our AD does that, all our sports programs are toast. I do NOT believe this to be the case whatsoever.

The big money donors will make it very clear to him, as they are doing right now. There are already discussions ongoing about next year. No way it is a wait and watch situation based on the hopes and dreams of Earley figuring things out.

He still has time but that door is closing and closing very quickly. And if closed mid-way thru the SEC season, he should be let go as a failed experiment. With a full and complete rebuild coming.

Personally I think Kelly was a terrible hire and is as much the problem.

This. X100. The team may have talent, but how many position starters have returned from last year's team? 3? There are returning pitchers, but (mostly) last year's pitchers have not been the problem. This is a different team, and everyone still expects the same results.

Also the injuries of our 2nd and 3rd best players didn't help. Insert Sorrell and GG into this team from the start and this could look different. Even now if you replaced Farr with GG, this lineup is really good.

Stewart being healthy might have saved a few of those late game collapses too.
