Going to assume you're referring to Royo. I agree with your sentiment, but also believe every situation should be looked at closely. He definitely made a mistake, no doubt. But the mistake was he thought it was definitely a foul ball. I don't he is the prima donna type and doesn't think he has to hustle. He's been a bright spot, an awesome find this season and has done a ton of tremendous things. I'm good giving him the benefit of the doubt and providing him so latitude to learn and grow. And if the comment is directed at the coach only, we have no idea what was discussed or said in the dug out. Totally unfair and not productive to assume.

If you are referring to Royo last night on what should have been a double, IMO that was more of a brain fart than a true lack of hustle. I bet he won't do it again. Ben certainly did not have a good game last night but has shown to be the best option at 2B this season so benching him over this would be a mistake

Royo has shown nothing but hustle and effort. Mental mistake and I'm giving him some grace. He won't make that mistake again.

Coach is probably more angry about the double error play at 2B. He'll be fine and is our best option at 2B.

There are plenty of ways to hold players accountable for lack of hustle, brain farts, whatever you want to call it besides benching them. He's proven his worth defensively imo, and has been productive at the plate.
