Watching Sorrell bounce around after the game winner thursday, he looks like he's gotta be close to being able to play left field. As the celebration began I was thinking "take it easy Sorrell, please do not aggravate your hamstring". But he didn't appear to be hampered.

Him with Laviolette and Kiel makes for a damn good outfield defensively, and you can get what looks to be an improving schott in at DH.

Heck, if bindy keeps it up, maybe he's the DH when kash is back, and schott is just a late pinch hitter….uuuhhh, yeah, prolly not.

If Bindy stays close to what he has been over the past few games, he could DH when Kash comes back and Sorrell is ready to play LF.

Kiel RF
Tubs CF
Henseler 3B
Sorrell LF
Bear C
Kent SS
Bindy DH
Kash 1B
Royo 2B

That's a pretty stout lineup......

ETA; That would be a R-L-R-L-R-L-R-L-R lineup.....

If Sorrell and Kash get healthy enough to play in the field, then Binderup and Schott would probably platoon at DH.

We could really use Sorrell subbing out Farr in the lineup. Farr is just a freshman and seems to have a bright future, but he's not contributing much at the plate right now. We are going to need all the offense we can muster the next 3 weeks.

When Sorrell gets healthy Jace will be the 3rd best fielder in the outfield.

Not saying that as a knock against Jace…he's a plus fielder.

When those 3 are out there not much in the air will hit the ground.

If you had come in here a week ago and floated any idea that had Binderup in the lineup you would've been run out of town and told never to come back.

Oh, I agree. That's why I said IF Bindy stays close to what he has been over the past few games. Otherwise, you throw Schott back into the DH spot.

I'm too lazy to look up the stats, but to the naked eye it appears Bindy is hitting better the more ABs he gets. I wonder if platooning at DH would set him back?

Maybe, but Schott gets some clutch hits, and you want to have him available when you need him. Simply using him as a pinch hitter would probably not be optimal. If Binderup were to go on a tear where you just couldn't take him out of the lineup, then maybe you just leave Schott for pinch hit duty, but Blake is along way from there at this point. Not saying it can't happen, but it's not something you can wish into existence.

Are you trying to say rushing decisions about baseball doesn't work. A game that the professionals decided it took 162 games in a season to actually decide who's best.

Crazy talk!
