Freshcorn should never pitch in an SEC game. I would much rather see Wilson, Jackson, or Lyons if we've already used Moss.
I was gonna ask/suggest using Jackson Brasseux, but it appears he's been redshirted.

Rudis gave us three innings of of no run ball on Saturday in what essentially started out as mop up duty. While it wasn't picture perfect, he did have five K's in those three innings of work. Maybe a little confidence builder for him?
Is Stewart now done for the year? If he comes back in 2024 form, makes up a HUGE difference.

I think our pitching roster is actually pretty good considering. Def not dominate but def above average.
If we can play very CLEAN defensive baseball, I think this will greatly alleviate some pitching concerns.

14 of 15 losses were games where the Ags scored 5 runs or less and 10 of those they scored 3 runs or less.

This is true but lost in his outing was he gave up a hit and a run but not for Kiel and Kent's relay to get the runner out at the plate for the second out was lost but if he scores it's 13-2 and runner on 2nd and one out.
Rudis was money after this play.
Freshcorn is a frustrating situation. He's got the Velo, but his command and offspeed pitch shapes aren't good.
He seems to hang them, and can't really locate the fastball on the edges. When he get's control he'll have more success.
I also think he needs a little ride on his fastball like Verlander.

As good as last year's team was you could have said this about them, with the exceptions of Asch and Cortez (two pretty big exceptions I know).

I think Bullpen pitching is where pitching coaches and the analytics guys really make their hay. You have to be able to set these guys up for some sort of success with a plan and an identity of who they're going to be on the mound. We don't have many guys that can execute a plan that works.

He had to with Sdao out. Maybe it should have been Moss.
Sdeo was in the weekend rotation when he went down so I imagine that would have continued in Omaha....but I suppose you would have Badmaev to come out the pen there

Why has the bullpen not improved at all as the season has gone on?
Losing Stewart really hurts but it doesnt explain Freshcorn, Wilson, Jackson, Rudis, etc. We were counting on them to fill the hole from Cortez and Ash but they're not any better than they were on opening day (arguably worse).
