Totally agree. Just saying that aspect lets officials/umpires have an out to not overturn a missed call.

There's a big difference between "that's a toss up I can't tell" and "I'm 80% sure he dropped it but can't say 100%". You're more likely than not in that scenario keeping the original wrong call….when as you agreed, the point is to get it right. Very very few calls can you give 100% certainty. There's a lot of 70-90% sure situations.
