Has been an absolute weapon out of the bullpen.

The command and confidence he has in that change-up with so much run has been elite. Looks like he's down to a 1.50ERA on the season now after this outing tonight against the piggies.

This team has come back together and it's been incredible to watch. Keep grinding boys, we're here for it!

Gig'em!

His biggest asset is he doesn't give up to any hitter in any count. He's ready to battle once someone steps in the box. Obviously he's throwing really well and is confident.

Casual baseball fan question: How can you pitch a change up on the first pitch? Is it just because no matter when you throw the fast ball it looks similar to a change up but the latter is 10 mph slower so batters are way ahead?

The batter is not just ahead as you mention but also often swings over the top of the changeup as well. They can look the same coming out pitcher's hand but the changeup typically drops 10-20 inches more than a fastball because of both speed and spin.

Weston is so much fun to watch. I love a good emotional player, in any sport, as long as he's not getting stupid penalties.

You can tell Prager has kind of gotten bogged down with the analytics and all the what not.

Moss pops in with some swagger, and actually probably would prefer his Pitchcom didn't exist ("I'm just gonna throw some balls"), which is somewhat ironic bc he did need to fix it tonight, but probably just would rather not have it.

Passion/emotion shows up in different forms. Weston just trots out with straight vengeance every time and every pitch, and I love it.

Personally, I think Prager is just a more even-keel, non-emotive guy. Which can also be an asset when things are chaotic.

I am curious how you can tell this is the case.

As for Moss, I like when he said in his post game interview that his approach is to just throw strikes. Doesn't matter who is in the box.

Tip of the hat to Earley

100%. I questioned the decision at the time solely because Prager only had 66 pitches and thought we needed to preserve the bullpen as much as possible. Moss definitely stepped up big time going the full 5 innings and saving everyone else for today. He looked like he could've gone a few more if needed too.

When he came back from that 3-0 count with one man on and no outs was game changer.

Just saw this meme online. A boy and his dad driving:

"Dad, why is my sister's name Rose?"

"Because your mother loves roses"

"Thanks Dad"

"No problem Weston Moss"

Praeger has a dead arm. The average velocity of his fastball last night was 87. That is off 3 to 4 mph from last year. He has no sharp movement on his slider, and his pitches are up in the zone. He gets almost no ground balls, and the hits are line drives or deep fly balls. He is throwing BP right now. He should be given a rest.

So, now the question is who to replace him with. After some thought, I think Moss should stay in relief. Hopefully Earley has been grooming someone. But actually we can't do much worse, and we can have a short leash with Moss in the pen. Maybe move Lamkin up to Friday. If Praeger had continued in the 5th inning last night, I think we would have given up the lead.
I hate tu. It's in my blood.

And he has absolutely firmly earned the nickname of 'Boss' in my household.

In baseball the right move can explode in your face, this time it worked out and pretty obvious that Earley was giving the ball to his best reliever with a lead and go all in for the win in game one

Games 2&3 will hopefully take care of themselves but last night it was about getting a HUGE W in game 1

Mom named daughter Rose because she liked roses. Dad named son Weston Moss because he loves him some Weston Moss.

Got it. I literally thought he was talking to the Weston Moss, not a kid named after Weston Moss.
