I've been away from this board for a while, just couldn't stand the negativity and the vitriol of supposed Aggie fans.

I just don't understand it. Most of these guys, including Michael Earley, were part of the greatest Aggie sports achievement in modern history just a year ago, and supposed "fans" on this board somehow justify calling them failures and demanding they be fired or benched.

The way this season started SUCKED. Get over it. The way they have turned things around is awesome, but guess what... more adversity might be just around the corner.

I've seen a lot of mea culpas from posters apologizing for giving up on this team. But what are you going to do if they run into some more adversity? God forbid we don't win three in Austin. Will these same posters be back here demanding heads on pikes again?

This team is awesome. When I say that, I'm talking about how hard they work, how much they obviously love each other, how much pride they take in wearing the jersey, and especially how much they love Aggieland and how GREAT they represent Texas A&M.

They are starting to find their mojo and are recently looking like the team we expected. Hopefully they can keep it up and have another historic postseason run. But if they stumble along the way, help them up... don't kick dirt in their faces. They want what we want.

So to the people jumping back on the bandwagon... BE STRONG! BE LOYAL! HAVE FAITH! Don't run at the first sign of adversity. Support these coaches and players who are giving their best. The results are not always awesome. That's life. I guarantee the team will appreciate it.

Our fans often are filled with fear…too often.

I don't need 3 wins, but it would be satisfying. I just want to win the series.

Happy for the players. I hope they are able to keep their emotions in check and just play loose. Just like they have been the past 3 weeks. Focused and confident.

Because a good Ag shuts up and freely accepts mediocrity. At least that seems to be the message. "Be ok with the failure that was the first half of this season"

I don't think we need to accept it but some of the stuff posted here was entirely below the belt. The character of our coaches and players should not be called into question esp by people who don't know them.

Criticize plays, at bats, schemes, lineups but it has and still continues to go to far. Personal attacks should always be over the line.

Yes, a few weeks back this was a very ugly place.

Baseball is the hardest game on the planet. I was frustrated, but I just knew it would turn around at some point. I hope our boys and their great coaching staff continue winning.

We all get frustrated. Men's major sports haven't exactly overachieved in the last 80 years or so.

Maybe just rein in the venting a little, particularly in game threads. Don't want to ruin it for everyone.

This team is amazing. I don't expect them to win it all, but they could make a real run here. Doing so will bolster Earley and the program going forward. That is really saying something given what Schloss did and how he did it

I don't know why, but I have had a good feeling about this team the whole time. Fingers crossed for us all.

It is amazing how many of our Baseball Fans clung to hope during our Riches to Rags Story earlier in the season. No matter how bad the diagnosis or how grave the prognosis, our Fans kept watching our team play.

Hope springs eternal in the breast of Aggie Baseball Fans.

And the sad thing is those people won't learn. They will allow their insecurities and negativity to repeat the behavior in the face of their next adversity. There are so many practical reasons that explains our cold start, and no it wasn't fun. But to constantly say the team and coach were losers, that they suck, that they were embarrassing was nothing short of surprising and shocking. I cringe that they now share in the success, but that's not mine to gate keep.

Criticism is fine. Earley made mistakes. Players made mistakes. They weren't playing well. Criticism was warranted.

Personal attacks aimed at guys who just 8 months before had taken this team to game 3 of the championship series was IDIOTIC.

ANYONE attacking those guys was an IDIOT.

It is my opinion that it would be smarter to support those guys, try to lift them up with constructive criticism and words of encouragement. I'm a parent, that's how I treat my kids when they fall short. Maybe you're a parent and you think it's more productive to call your kids losers when they fail at something.

I think that would be stupid, sad and harmful. That's my opinion.
