My 6 yo has wanted to watch baseball all afternoon after church. All we can find on right now is ND vs Stanford. I didn't know how good our SEC+ production is until I started watching this. It has High School vibes.

They have like 2 angles, and the picture isn't great. There is also no crowd/field noise, just picture and radio guy for audio.

It helps to remember the SEC+ streams are usually produced by the home team's school and at least at A&M by a sizable contingent of students.

There also was a significant initial investment by ESPN for a studio and broadcast equipment for each school around, iirc, $13 million per school.

The Pac-12 fully owned its primary and regional networks but never substantially improved the production values of certain sports including (that I watched) women's soccer and baseball. A lot of folks who comment here think the SEC+ streams are an entitlement and cannot be taken away now that we have them. There are many ways to kill them and the school failing to invest further could cause a significant decrease in production values.

With that said: that hasn't happened yet.

Yes, every game.
Cuts out mid sentence regularly throughout the game.

Stanford is ACC, PAC12 is dead.

Read again what I wrote. It's about baby investment they were able to keep from the PACN.

Only for the Vandy game. There was this consistent and annoying whistle.

It's not just A&M games, I've heard (or not) them in other ESPN SEC broadcasts..... Very annoying! It happened last year as well.

ESPN fix this!

I turned on a McNeese home game earlier this season. There's one camera (up high behind home), blue carpet for a playing surface, and no audio whatsoever. Not even crowd noise.

Yep have watched other ESPN programming and it doesn't have this problem. For a while I thought it was someone sitting near a hot mic they kept trying to bleep out language but since realized it wasn't.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe 12th Man Productions is the finest broadcast organization of any other school that I have seen. The facility they put into new Kyle is pretty damn impressive.

Never had the Pac-12 network, but it doesn't surprise me that they provided low quality broadcasts for "minor" sports. No wonder it was a flop.

I wonder how long the ACC will give Stanford and Cal to get up to scratch on production levels? I haven't seen any other ACC broadcasts as poor as theirs.

I have to disagree....

I think when they started they were the best. But, in my opinion, other schools have passed us in broadcast quality (at least for SEC baseball). That said, we're not anywhere near the worst and it's definitely not a bad product. Just think other schools do things like replays, stats, and camera angles better.

Fair enough. I was including the quality of our weekly shows like The Pulse etc. if you ever catch other schools' versions of those on SEC Network etc, ours seems to be pretty far ahead.

Honestly I don't watch a lot of baseball except our games but I'll pay closer attention.

Baseball production looks bad if you don't have some really experienced camera operators, especially with a limited number of cameras.

If you're watching today's game against Sam, this is an example of what I'm talking about. We've got all the equipment, but the high home camera operator today just isn't up to the job. Nothing the director or anyone else can do, because if this camera doesn't track the ball off the bat, it's going to look like an amateur production.

The quality might be subpar, but I for one love watching the same commercial over and over for hours.
