Players will sometimes get "snippy" with each other. I understand that. Sport, at that level, is a highly emotional activity.

Having watched the clip, I think the real fault lies with the 1B umpire. He could have, should have, immediately ejected the tu runner. He didn't. And, because, he didn't, he impliedly approved of that activity. As a result, that kind of activity is allowed to go "unchecked".

My opinion only.

There was no reason to eject anyone for jaw-jacking each other.

But, if there was an ejection, it should've been both players.

It was a BS call. They lost nothing. We lost our starting first baseman.

I understand your point, but my comment was in reference to the tu-ttu game where the tu guy (Gasparino) went out of his way to run into the 1B man ((Kash). Sorry I wasn't clear.

Like the other day she said "are you even listening to me" and I thought that was a really weird way to start a conversation

my biggest problem was the lack of fight in Earley for this. If there was ever a good time to bring a little heat in the umps face, that was it. Instead, he took the explanation and moved on. Baseball can run on emotions. Many games have been won purely by the motivation of a coach having his players back and getting tossed out. It can be calculated or spontaneous. But at least show some fight there.

It's a tough line to walk. If he gets tossed, then what?

I'm waiting for a coach to pull his players off the field. THAT would send a message. If the umpires want to call a forfeit? Let them. They were clearly not going to let A&M win the game anyway. And then let them make all the fans mad for buying tickets and not getting a game in.

Maybe you only saw what they showed on tv? Earley fought with them about it for a long time. Went back to them like 3 times even.

TV wouldn't miss a second of coverage if a coach was giving the ump what for. It is ratings.

But they did. Earley didn't stop while the cameras moved to the sip dugout and to Hayden who said words I've never seen him use in the dugout before.

True. No real winning in that situation, is there?

Still, as it turned out, our guy gets tossed because their guy starts something. And we complain about it on forums and Earley said some things to umpires that they forgot by the time they got home. What can you do?

This is why people didn't want them in the SEC.

Pull your team off the field? That doesn't make any sense. Lots of good can come from being tossed as a head coach. It can be a motivational tool and show of leadership. Not saying you have to throw a giant tantrum. Good coaches know the limits, and know how far to push them as well. If not during that opportunity, maybe stop the game to argue some of the horrible strike/ball calls that led to them gaining the lead. Sometimes you need a spark. And sometimes that spark can be from the head coach. Baseball today is soft.

It's not a few innings, though. It's a few innings and the entire next game. Considering how big this series is, I can understand Earley wanting to stay in it.

I personally think the rule of automatic suspension after an ejection is stupid. Makes the umpires reluctant to do it and it makes coaches reluctant to get tossed. If what the offender did was super egregious, sure, leave a possible suspension up to umpire discretion. But it shouldn't be automatic.

In the video clip from the ttu game, it looks to me like the tech first baseman was all over the run path. My recollection from our game was that Gasparino had to reach over to shove Kash. Does anyone have a video clip from our game?
