Liberty's swing selection seemed to be above average yesterday and the 1st 2 innings today.

Ford went through 3 pitchers in the 2nd and even subbed for Mac at catcher for the 3rd & 4th innings.

Were we doing something to tip pitches?

One of their players said in their Saturday post game presser
That they scouted her out thoroughly…..have a staff lefty who mimicked her in batting practice…….So Yes, long story short, they were well prepared for Kennedy….

On WTAW this morning Dusty said their entire team was down throughout the game due to the loss in the first game, but when we put Lefty in, their entire team got excited. They knew they could hit her. They did it before.

Just watching on tv, you could sense Liberty's mood start to shift when they saw Lefty coming in. It was a very, very risky move for Ford to make. It obviously didn't work, so we were both outcoached and outplayed. Those are 2 Aggie traditions we seem to have trademarked.

You saw it correctly.
If you watched the games on Sunday, you saw this stat no less than 486 thousand times. It was on the screen pretty much from the start of the 1st game.

I'm not the one who said "Liberty should have hosted their own regional" but the person who wrote that was complimenting them and recognizing their 17 RPI was well-deserved, not crying about life being unfair. They clearly are a host-deserving team and A&M had just run-ruled Texas and Carolina and gone through teams much higher RPI than Liberty. Just noting the facts. Liberty didn't get lucky. They earned that regional championship.

As many said last week after losing to Liberty they were decent not good team who beat us and they would get swept by Oregon. Surprise they got swept and run ruled just shows how bad we played vs them.

I don't believe Emily was tipping her pitches. She is almost exclusively down in the strike zone, so hitters don't have to concern themselves with higher strikes. In pitching you need to change eyesight level up or down along with side to side. She was also wild on either side of the plate and down from what I saw. Her bugaboo this year were walks and home runs. When she was on she was almost unhittable though.

I tip my hat to Munnerlyn (sp?) who ate up a lot of innings in game two when Coach Ford needed someone to pitch effectively and keep us in the game. She looked spent when she was pulled.
