Kennedy was toeing the line all year.
Ford's brain farts with our pitchers this weekend was astounding.

Kennedy and Jace having their worst years in an Aggie uniform directly impacted the team's success this year.
If you don't have an ace that can go hundreds of pitches deep in a series, you aren't going very far in this tournament.
Kennedy was real bad these past 2 days and Ford didn't do a good job managing our pitching staff either

Starter was dealing and she gets yanked after a 1 out-single, up 3-1?
Puzzling for sure.
The rest of the pitching was awful after that decision. Hit the panic button too quickly.

Ford overcompensated because in the game prior she left our gal in way too long and nearly lost the game for it.
Yeah, I heard the announcers mention that she "learned her lesson from last time"...

Pulled Lessetine too early. Put in Lefty when that team had seen her and beaten her. Then puts in Sparks and pitches to their best hitter with a base open. No words. Just astounding,

just panicked. Lessentine could've gotten one more out then next inning was the bottom of the lineup. Could've easily kept the lead all game long. Lessentine looked great out there. But as she did all season, Ford only trusts Kennedy to win games even after Kennedy was a big reason we were playing a 3rd game against Liberty. Out walks and tonight they killed us. We weren't the better team this weekend Perez was not very good vs Liberty she left the game out there on the bases.
Tough loss but it's A&M so not surprising we set a record for choking.

This was the worst decision ever by Ford, in a long line of egregious decisions by her. She cannot manage a pitching staff, at all.
She sucks at managing pitching.
There are two sides to every coin. How about tipping your cap to your comp a little.
They were clearly ready and well prepared for lefty. The brought in pro lefty pitcher for practice prior and also did a great job scouting.
Lefty was also getting squeezed big time in the first game yesterday.

Wow, either you just started watching the softball team or you are just venting or you don't want to give Ford credit that she actually has done a great job all season with the pitching staff and it's the one area she knows very well.

Exactly. No one but maybe OU was beating that Liberty team. Period. *****, moan, complain like always.
We simply got beat by a very good team that refused to go home. One swing difference was the game.
Yet, everyone wants to make so much more about it. Certainly easy to tell Ford what she did wrong when you can see into the concluded future events. Worse thing is having to read 80% of the comments from folks who didn't even bother to watch this team play much regular season ball and didnt watch the entire series. Just ESPN highlight queens....
Well... she did give a HR the pitch before the hard hit single. I would wager that had a big influence in her being pulled. (Add to that, the batter before the HR hit a hard line drive right to LF.)BadMoonRisin said:

Kennedy came on a got the last out of the 5th. She then walked the first batter of the 6th before striking 2 batters out. Then the wheels fell off.
Pitching aside, with a first base open, not walking their best, 20+ homerun hitter, lost that game and the regional.
The failure of the Aggies to get out of this regional is squarely on Ford's shoulders. She should have had enough data to know Kennedy was ineffective against Liberty and to bring her in at the most critical moment when you were nursing a 2 run lead is inexcusable. As soon as she brought her in, I knew we were in trouble and it came to fruition. The batters did a good job getting close.
I know Kennedy is a great pitcher, but sometimes there is a team that just has your number or your stuff isn't as good as normal. It's OK, but the coach has to recognize the issue and not going into that well again and again. Give her a break until the series.

Other problem with A&M in general in any sport we get beat then we assume that team is the best team ever. Time will show that Liberty isnt that good and will get swept by Oregon. Routine double play and a horrible throw to 1B allowed the inning to continue and then boom, HR and game over. Multiple, multiple missed opportunities in the last game with runners on 2nd and 3rd and we come up with nothing. They a very good team that was very well prepared for facing lefty. They also have a great coach. Look up her bio.
That being said we still should have beat them. Lots of young players got some experience that will help them going forward.

Pulling Lessentine and putting Lefty in was a very risky move. Myself and several others said it on the game thread. She came in and got the out she needed to, but we sent her back out there for the 6th and I think this was the risky part. Liberty knew they could hit her so we basically gave them some life. But, I guess coach thought "you dance with who brung you". It obviously didn't work out. But this only led to a tie game. When I saw Sparks coming in, I knew this wasn't going to end well. I'm wondering if coach considered putting Lessentine back in instead of Sparks? Sidne? Munnerlyn? Leavitt? I probably would have picked any of those over Sparks. It's a shame that Sidne Peters missed most of the conference slate and was only able to come back this weekend. I feel Coach Ford would have been able to turn it over to her if we had seen her a week sooner after pulling Lessentine. I think we had 3 legit starters in Kennedy/Lessentine/Peters.
She left two riseballs at the top of the zone. One got hit out, the other was a single. She was still getting ahead in the count. There was no reason to panic.
