This happened for several kids, a couple at ou and tex. Hit 350-400 in big 12, In the sec .275 or so. The pitching depth is amazing in the sec,
He was injured as well, we've never seen a year with so many injuries.

I would bet money Earley never mentioned let alone practiced running outside the line. Literally a 5 minute drill you do once or twice, and you move on. His inexperience is unbelievable! But hey, the players like him.

All you just hit the portal and it will be fine might be wrong Most guys are in the portal for a reason
Either they weren't top shelf talent out of high school or
They weren't valuable members of their current team
Maybe you can rebuild and reload with 6-7 portal guys but it look at Deion at CU and that is what Portal teams often end up looking like

Back to OP I want our own version of Tony V and I am willing to give Earley one more year to see if he can become that guy
Tony V also had a tough go of it his first season iirc 12-18 and he turned it around

My biggest issue w base running all year is that we never put any pressure on pitchers when on base. No threats to steal except TK who had… 12 lol. Otherwise they knew we weren't stealing and we barely even went through the trouble of moving on pitches… which is baseball 101.

TOOTBLAN is a thing and one of the things that makes College baseball more interesting than MLB
This was a team that managed to let bad teams stay in games and stay close to good teams and often lost those games. Because we were in way too many games like this we remember the TOOTBLANs that were decisive in a loss
