And now to get the laptop and settle in. That was brutal on my phone

I really feel like our staff is limiting our ability to produce runs with their lineup philosophy batting our best power guys 1-2 in the lineup. I get that you want to maximize their at bats, and "they're only leadoff in the 1st" conversations. But it also puts a ton of pressure on the weakest parts of your lineup, and creates a deeper run of weaker hitters in a row. There's a reason that baseball has put their best run producing hitters at 3-5 for the last 140 years.

If Gavin were hitting .400 with power (like Cags did), sure. But if he's going to hit .280 then he needs to be in that 3-5 slot where a deep fly out has a chance to drive in a run.

I guess what annoys me the most is that ME seems to think he's figured out something that no one else in the history of baseball has and will stubbornly stick with it (perhaps all the way to the unemployment line).
