Our next coach will have a very big task ahead of him. Earley has done immeasurable damage to the A&M baseball program; he's set us back years and years.

Not sure I agree with the huge task… go get a proven winner from a program in a lesser conference and open up the NIL money. This isn't the 90s.

This isn't true, in today's portal world you can turn it around in one year with the right coach. Heck look at what Schloss did in 2022 with the portal after taking over a total mess after the 2021 season. Jack Moss,
Dylan Rock, Troy Claunch, Jacob Palisch and bam! He took us further in Omaha that year than we had ever been before. Getting the right guy is all that matters

Get someone that knows what they're doing we'll be fine. I've tried but he is a fool.

The Aggie way. Always talking about the next coach. Lets see the list involves the top 5 coaches in the NCAA D1 plus a few unrealistc MLB mangers. Then litter it with exAggies or those that have Aggie ties when the first list doesnt pan out. Sound about right? We all new Earley was not the guy or at least those that understand baseball. I guess you dont just fill put a lineup. Whats worse his how badly we overpaid for him. Do you really have trust we can make the higher?

Trev nailed it with basketball. Unfortunately he let the players make the hire with Earey, maybe he'll learn from his mistake and see that his Bucky strategy is the way to go. I'm fine getting a younger guy from a lower conference or division, but he needs to have proven himself as a leader of a program with a clear identity

Trev may have nailed it with Bucky but not sure he could of done much worse with baseball. I know Texags will say he was forced. Was he forced to pay him a $1M a year when he could of easily piad him half of that.

In basketball it was a lot easier since all the players left.

I'm grumpy too but can we just keep this all to one thread? Do we need 8 that do the exact same thing?

Trev is so far 1 big HR and 2 TBD with Soccer and baseball (I'm not firing Earley yet). He also has secured the coaches in other sports that have had our best seasons in recent memory (Elko and Morrison). We have a lot of baseball to play and we're 2-4 and our 5 loses are against top 10 teams. We will really learn a lot in the next 3 weekends. Can we beat bad teams on the road, down and out teams at home, and get motivated to BTHO t.u. our goal should be 6/7 wins and a series win against t.u. could get us some momentum

I'm not gonna make a decision until we're closer to the end of the season, but if we get to the postseason and maybe deeper, all I'm gonna say is all these threads are gonna seem really silly.

Trev Alberts will not fire Earley this season. He may next season, but he would prefer to have him for the 4 years. TA chased off Schloss because he was going to be too expensive to keep. We are reaping the rewards of the mega buyout of Jimbo. When Earley's time runs out, do not expect a major splash hire. Just like in basketball, it will be an under the radar type hire that will save the department money.

Calling for the firing of a coach after going 2-4 against two top 10 teams seems a bit premature....

So will the forever Early posters if it's another crash and burn season which is far more likely than a deep postseason run right now.

I just don't wanna make a decision until we see what happens. We're 2 conference series in against 2 top 10 teams. Hopefully we figure it out but if we don't I'll know where I stand.

Absolutely false. Pretty much destroys your credibility right there.

Who are these mythical "forever Early" posters you speak of? I have not seen them on this board.

This is a joke, right? You do realize we had a contract extension ready for POS to sign that would have paid him more than he initially took to go to tu....

That's not how I define "chasing" someone off...

He didn't fight hard to keep him. Because Schloss left the way he did, he was able to elevate a young inexperienced coach and still got alumni to support a baseball renovation project.

He had problems with Schloss long before the College World Series, and I bet it didn't bother him that he left. If my theory is wrong, then he will can Earley and hire a proven coach.

However if Earley fails to make it to the postseason in back to back years Trev absolutely has to pull the plug.

Well I hope it doesn't come to that

But I would say getting booted from a road regional should be grounds for a coaching change

"Making a regional" is nothing, and should not be considered a threshold for success at A&M

Earley went and screwed things up again. Just when we were sure we know what to do with him he has a weekend sweep over the sips.
