That's all!

Our next coach will have a very big task ahead of him. Earley has done immeasurable damage to the A&M baseball program; he's set us back years and years.

This isn't true, in today's portal world you can turn it around in one year with the right coach. Heck look at what Schloss did in 2022 with the portal after taking over a total mess after the 2021 season. Jack Moss,
Dylan Rock, Troy Claunch, Jacob Palisch and bam! He took us further in Omaha that year than we had ever been before. Getting the right guy is all that matters

The Aggie way. Always talking about the next coach. Let's see the list involves the top 5 coaches in the NCAA D1 plus a few unrealistc MLB mangers. Then litter it with exAggies or those that have Aggie ties when the first list doesnt pan out. Sound about right? We all knew Earley was not the guy or at least those that understand baseball. I guess you dont just fill put a lineup. Whats worse his how badly we overpaid for him. Do you really have trust we can make the higher?

I'm not gonna make a decision until we're closer to the end of the season, but if we get to the postseason and maybe deeper, all I'm gonna say is all these threads are gonna seem really silly.

Trev Alberts will not fire Earley this season. He may next season, but he would prefer to have him for the 4 years. TA chased off Schloss because he was going to be too expensive to keep. We are reaping the rewards of the mega buyout of Jimbo. When Earley's time runs out, do not expect a major splash hire. Just like in basketball, it will be an under the radar type hire that will save the department money.

So will the forever Early posters if it's another crash and burn season which is far more likely than a deep postseason run right now.

He didn't fight hard to keep him. Because Schloss left the way he did, he was able to elevate a young inexperienced coach and still got alumni to support a baseball renovation project.
He had problems with Schloss long before the College World Series, and I bet it didn't bother him that he left. If my theory is wrong, then he will can Earley and hire a proven coach.

"Getting to the post season" isn't enough

However if Earley fails to make it to the postseason in back to back years Trev absolutely has to pull the plug.
