I'm not looking forward to the tu series. Their pitching and coaching is much better than ours

Their bullpen has looked just as mortal as ours some games.

No comment on the coaching

F ou , they are the biggest chokers when they play tu. We gave them two games but I like our chances against cow. If our bats are working we'll be in every game. Cow doesn't have much power.

lol you can mark that one as a sweep right now. And not for the good guys.

Totally different OU team than what we saw a couple weeks ago

They can pitch this series (or at least this game)

The reason it's tied is because they cant

If the Aggie pitching have given up only 3 runs in 9 innings they would be 6-1 (or 5-2 if you discount the two garbage time runs in the Friday Georgia game) in league play and that is with an offense that you complain about quite often in game threads.

We're not talking about the Aggies. OU had a 3 run lead in the 8th and walked in 3 runs. That ain't pitching worth a crap.

Today? Because that was not the case last night.

With all due respect, your hatred for sip continues to cloud your judgement, resulting in some pretty horrendous picks.
The week before last Thanksgiving, for example:
"Sip Score prediction: 31-14 Aggies, and we will beat Bama in the SEC championship game."

Yikes bud. Hope you're not betting these hot takes.

another interesting RPI case is Georgia

Bulldogs are 22-6 and 6-2 in the SEC...with 2 road wins at top 20 RPI A&M

would expect UGA to be in the RPI top 20 at least -- maybe top 10 -- with the above resume

but thanks to dreadful non-conference scheduling...Georgia is only #45 at the moment

UGA played a 4-game series vs. Queens (RPI 245) and a 4-game series vs. Oakland (RPI 211)

resulting in a non-conference SoS of 250

I don't really understand how the Aggies are currently no. 16 in rpi. Tenn Tech is 246, Penn is 174 and Oakland is 212. And Mizzou is 127. But I'll take it. If the season ended today I guess the Aggies would be a solid no. 2 seed.

We're roughly at the midway point of the season, so the RPI isn't fully effective. Not enough data points and still lots of wild swings up and down based on one or two games. For example, Oregon State has jumped 15 spots this week with a win at USC (impressive) and two wins at home vs. Mercer (not impressive). Texas State has jumped 20 spots this week simply by beating UT-RGV at home and winning two road games at Georgia State.

The RPI will be much more indicative of actual relative strengths of teams in about 3 more weeks. It just takes time and more data points for a ranking system like this to sharpen its pencil to get more accurate numbers.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

1. We have zero bad losses. Three of the 5 losses are to rpi top 20 teams at neutral sites/road. Bad losses hurt more than good wins help

2.Virginia tech, Arizona state, OU x1 are all top 35 rpi neutral site/road wins. Texas state at 25 was a nice win at home

Mercer was 21-4 going into those two. Those are good wins for Oregon state

An RPI of 16 is nice, but I'm not convinced we have the pitching to be successful against the better teams in the conference. Feeling good about a sweep later today. Less sold on our longer-term prospects.

Pitching is definitely our limitation. But that doesn't mean we can't get 15 SEC wins and make a post season run

It really is as bad as it seems. This morning, conference games only. The team at the top, who I won't mention, has an era of 2.75.

Good news is that I don't think it can get worse… and our starters have the ability to do better, but we have to find that gear/pitch sequence/second time through the order each pitcher needs

I hate Florida but hate Arky more. Would love to see them get swept today. Horrible fan base.

Completely agree. Hog fans are genuinely one of the dumbest fanbases in all of college sports.

This statement is refuted by the axiom by Casey Stengel, "good hitting always beats good pitching, and vice versa".

Truth is, our above average hitting CAN overcome our below average pitching. Time will tell.

CAN, yes
But expecting 12+ runs a game just isn't a sustainable model

Realized last night that we've got t.u.-OU, UT-Vandy, Ole Miss-Mississippi State, and Auburn-Alabama all happening this weekend. Why were we left out of rivalry weekend? Why aren't we playing our most hated and storied rival, South Carolina? SEC, EXPLAIN.

The highlights they showed on SEC Today this morning were crazy. The field ump had to keep a fight from happening between a runner (Bama) and the 2nd baseman (Auburn) after the 2nd baseman missed the tag - twice.
