On premium, Zane and Brauny have mentioned that he has all his teeth, but has a good amount of swelling. Probably a 50/50 call if he plays tomorrow. Said that he wanted to stay in the game last night, but they couldn't stop the bleeding.

He has the extended guard that covers your cheek but the pitch got up past it and it looked to me like it just blew up his lip/gums area.

Haven't seen something that scary in decades or maybe ever. That was super, super scary. Not sure I could even bat again the same. Hopefully he gets to full recovery ASAP. Sad cause Chris was starting to come out of his slump, too.

As bad as it was, it looked like it wasn't as direct of a hit as it could have been. Still hurt like hell I'm sure, but it could have been so much worse

Luckily he was trying to turn his head and look away but still took the brunt of it. I figured for sure there was going to me missing teeth or broken bone(s). To get away with bleeding and swelling only is a massive win. Almost another incident with an LSU batter (but not our fault). He went to bunt and run at literally the same time so he ran into the pitch. Pitch was high and was coming straight at his face. Batter panicked and put the bat against his face as a shield, had eyes completely closed waiting for impact, and luckily ball hit only the bat (and foul). He was extremely shook and looks like it hurt as well so the energy definitely transferred to his face.

if you have access to ESPN Watch... pull up the current game and you should be able to go back to today's first inning when Chris came up to bat. They showed a replay from last night.

Looked like it was more of a glancing blow thank goodness! The ball ricocheted backwards and hit the catcher in the head too. Look like it hit his upper lip and nose.

Not just the wrap around helmet but an actual mouth guard
