My daughter works in Birmingham and is moving back to Texas later in the year so thinking of going to SEC baseball tournament this year as I have a place to stay. I know the format for the tournament so trying to time out when the Aggies will play. One question I have is what is the best way to buy tickets for individual games or is better just to buy a session? I doubt I will go to all the games. Also are there any festivities around the tournament to attend and do Aggies even try to sit together at the games?

This should help.

1 & 4 seeds play on Thursday (5/21)
2 & 3 seeds play on Friday (5/22)

5 through 8 seeds play on Wednesday (5/20)

Sorry, can't help regarding tickets.

It's been a few years since I've been, but tickets are usually pretty easy to get from the ticket office there at the park or online. So when you know what game you want to go to, just do the above. I don't ever recall seats not being available.

It is better to buy on site or day of, session by session. There are always tickets for sale. GA is fine.

We have gone for the last 5+ years, and we even do hotels day by day. It used to be a bit better because of double elimination, so you could do a 2 day stay then rebook or swap.

They don't sell individual games, just sessions. A session will have two games. GA are good seats and you can find plenty of them in the shade. If you want to sit with other Ags, sit in the GA sections above the designated Aggie dugout.

They have a fan zone thing going on at the building next to the field. Games and bouncy castles, mostly geared toward kids, but it is also a good place if you need A/C.

I would look hard for seats in the shade (uppermost rows, 1st level?).

Long, hot, humid days, and that park has very little shade. Also doesn't look like there would be much of a breeze in the seating bowl. The area behind the seats isn't open at all.

Can concur. The area around the field is in a little bit of a valley, it's a bowl design and surrounded by a lot of trees that block whatever prevailing wind there is. It's a hot, sticky ballpark. Prepare for lots of sweat.

And lots of rain delays. Those are almost a given. Every year.

This. Unless a front comes through (unlikely) or storms pop up (likely), there isn't a breeze anywhere in Alabama.

Here's my input, traffic during rush hour is generally pretty congested near the park as people return from work in Birmingham.

Hoover High is right next to the stadium, so add extra commute time for games that start around when school lets out. Although they may be done for the year by tourney time?

If the game is at 5PM and you are driving from outside Hoover, give yourself an extra 30 to 45 minutes.

I'll also confirm, the times I've gone, there were plenty of seats available.

Ticket sales:

EDIT - Looks like the "regular" seats are gone. General Admission and club/deck seating were all I could find.
