I am glad we moved up 3 spots to No. 7 after an undefeated 4-0 week. Hopefully, we become a national seed to host the Regional and Super Regionals.

I know it's just a mid-season poll and it will eventually be settled on the field, but comparing RPI, SOS, and Quad 1 wins are indirect measures. Head-to-head is a direct measure. I really wish we'd been able to play that 3rd game and complete the full sweep.

Well, try to put together a ranking where all head to heads are considered between all teams, and let me know how that goes. Remember, D1 is doing this for everyone, not just to make sure the Ags and sips are put in their rightful places...

I watched Oregon St play at Lamar a couple of games a few weeks ago. They aren't better than us. They get an RPI bump playing more road games than most since they aren't in a conference.

Get used to it. Texas is a very good college baseball team. That win was great for us. But head to head matters only when we're next to each other (see Miami and Notre Dame football). And THAT really only matters if it's an 8/9 conversation which I'd prefer to avoid.

Considering that our final four SEC series are against RPI 5, 6, 9, and 18, if we take care of business our RPI, SoS and all the other metrics will be right up there with the sips removing any doubt who should be ranked higher or, more importantly, seeded higher in the tournament.

Okay, I get it, rankings are strengths of the team and schedule not the ass beating the snot out of the ones ahead of you and having a better record, even leading them in your conference.

Dude. Nobody said that. We are a very good team. So is texas. I don't like it but I'm also not going to ignore every other metric in a long-ass season just because I'm a fan.

As was said, take care of business and we'll be ranked plenty high. Hell, tread water and go 500 and I still think we're a national seed. That's really all that matters unless you care about 2-3, 6-7 to avoid UCLA in Nebraska.

Why do some many whine about rankings this early? It is easy people. Keep winning your series and you will get your wish and find A&M above Texas and most others.

Earn it. I do not believe for one second they have earned more than a Top 7. And I could care less about other teams or fairness. Keep winning....then look at the rankings end of season.

And to be frank, Texas has played better overall than A&M. Ags need two more solid weekends and then that narrative changes. And once Texas losses another series, they drop more significantly. I do not think they will end up a national host but I could care less either way. They ain't built for Omaha.

Hell, earlier in the season it took teams a long time to fall even as they continued to lose (see Arkansas)
