Auburn plays miss st and then Georgia
Miss state has Auburn then Ags

Both have same conf record. Are we rooting for Auburn to win 2/3 and hope Georgia handles them next weekend?

Or are we thinking miss state winning 2/3 this weekend is ideal and then we control what happens against state next weekend?

We obviously need to just keep winning games ourselves either way

Vols should be allowed to bring in Vitello for one weekend. I wonder if he's regretting leaving yet? Giants aren't exactly killing it. He'll probably wind up back in the SEC.

I think the only options they considered were a big name splash hire or Earley who could retain the roster

Since 2016. Two Trips Omaha (2019 & 2022), two other appearances in Super Regionals (2018 & 2025). A reason he may not get a lot of buzz is that he has never had a spectacular SEC season (17 wins a couple of times) plus a couple of real stinkers. Personally I like his low key style of coaching.

Yeah that makes sense but still little mention last summer or earlier this season on threads asking who TexAgs would like after we fire Earley.

Well he's been at Auburn for ten years and hasn't really done much. He's basically been Rob Childers at Auburn up to this point.

In the last five years they've missed the postseason twice and got booted in a road regional once. There was a trip to Omaha in 2022 but didn't get past the first weekend and a loss in the Supers last year at home

Maybe he gets over the hump this year, but going into this season I don't see why he would have been very desirable

I'd be ok w/ State going 2-1 vs Auburn and then 1-2 vs Ags.
Auburn then could go 2-1 vs Geo and they would both finish 17-13 in conference.
