What does next year look like in terms of who's leaving and who's coming back?

We are a very long way from having even a glimpse of an idea. Still have portal season then the draft to get through. Also only 3 or 4 of the current roster have entered the portal, and haven't seen very many current non-draft eligible players confirm their return.

Well, that's basically becoming a yearly thing with NIL.
I don’t get enough credit for the things I manage not to say.

There is a solid core returning with Partida, Wilson, Kellner, and Kiel. Potentially Bindy. Harrison has another year, IIRC, but his return is unlikely.

Jack Bell will be your 2B so we're looking pretty solid on the IF (Partida at 3rd, Kellner at SS) with Wilson in RF and Kiel likely in CF.

With Lane Arroyos at 1st base?

To me, as it stands today the roster is:

C: Becker
1B: Binderup
2B: Bell
SS: Kellner
3B: Partida
LF: Arroyos
CF: Kiel
RF: Wilson
DH: On of the JUCO transfers or freshmen

SP1: Sims
SP2: McCoy
SP3: Nuarez

CL: Lyons

Granted this is so preliminary and we are going to see a lot of changes with the portal and the draft. But the areas of immediate upgrade appear to be Catcher, LF, bullpen and SP3.

That's a good current summary. You should keep this fluid on here as additions and subtractions take place.

Has Arroyo ever every played the OF? At 6'1, 225 it doesn't scream left field to me

I saw something he was listed as 1B/LF. Regardless, at the end of the day I expect him or Bindy at 1B and the other at DH. (Barring a drastic change obviously). That's why I had LF as still a need.

Ok, you were saying those are the areas that still NEED immediate upgrades. I thought you were saying those were the upgraded positions and I was confused. Thanks, I was just reading it wrong.

Sounds like another season of HOPE.. Kellner is very average, to this point, and I don't believe he is suited for SS. Wilson was trending down at the end of the year. Kiel should be a corner OF. Binderup is Binderup after three years. Bell and Arroyos are moving up to SEC pitching. We still don't know how serious Sims' injury is (possible surgery). McCoy is coming back from surgery (sound familiar). Nuarez is anybody's guess. I know there's some time, but Earley needs to step it up or recruit more All-Americans. The next month may have a lot to do with Earley's time at A&M.

The CWS is over by June 22.

The 2026 MLB Draft is scheduled to take place from Saturday, July 11, 2026, through Monday, July 13, 2026.
