It's insane that people still think Trev is at fault.


"At fault" is probably over-stating.
But the move Trev made seemed to be more about holding a Natty runner-up team together very late in the cycle, and just crossing his fingers it maybe had some longer term potential.

And yeah….that move is questionable. Even more so now, in hindsight.

Now was the former head coach being reasonable or looking for excuses? Don't know. Kind of like Gillispie leaving because ground wasn't broken on what we now think of as Cox-McFerrun Center for Basketball…

Byrne was concerned we would not be able to retain Gillispie he shared in a private email with me. I didn't have any other background than that, though.

Absolutely he was. Another reason he checked out during the CWS. He was already viewed as a total POS (and rightly so) for doing what he did. Can you imagine doing the same having won a natty and immediately bolting for the arch rival?

Me too Doc. My Aggie son and I live for Aggie Baseball. We actually sat in front of you and Mrs DermDoc at the CWS whorn game in 22. Nice time visiting with you both.

To add insult, today is 2 years that we clinched our return to the CWS. On top of the world. Headed back to the promise land with a coach who had IT. Never thought those next 3 weeks would come to where we are today.

To be fair WVU was the one seed so it's not their fault they played lower seeds in the regional round. But yes, they certainly got lucky to get such a huge upset with their pairing and host a 3 seed in the supers.

A&M in 2017 probably played the same seeds or worse on their road to Omaha


Actually we might have had an even easier road because Dividson iirc was a 4

I don't spend any time in the basketball forum. People blame him for Buzz leaving?

Buzz has said publicly that he doesn't like coaching at a place more than 5-6 years and implied he got out before he could be fired. Good for him, I say. He knows the game.

We were the three seed in the Houston Regional. We had to beat UH (1), Baylor (2), and Iowa (4), one of the better fours in the tournament.

The committee had the SEC set up to be 2 on one side and 3 on the other. You can't blame them for upsets that created 4 & 1.
