The Boll Weevils of the University of Arkansas Monticello

It was The Boll Weevils of Piedmont but was renamed the Intimidators so I had to move on

I still wear the team cap from time to time however

The Biloxi Shuckers are a follow for me as well. I fish out of Biloxi quite a bit and try to attend a game when The schedules align. This is actually a neat minor league park.

Boll Weevils! Incredible!

However, I looked it up. The women's teams are called the Cotton Blossoms instead? Not cool. Not cool.

If one understands what a boll weevil does to the results of a cotton blossom " a cotton boll" that is really strange.

Several years ago, we played Long Beach State in baseball. They are called the Dirtbags. I got such a kick out of their name that I bought a t-shirt.

my dad's team is the Yankees as well because of being able to hear them on the radio and all the players back then. My mom's team growing up was the cubbies.

I am a eternal Yanks fan because of Reggie Jackson. I grew up loving Mr October and Reggie Bars!

Right now the Scottish national team in the World Cup. It's been fun to see their fans in the US on social media. (Also I'm 12% Scottish)

My dad went there. I have bought plenty a Dirt Bag hat for him for Christmas/birthdays over the years.

My semi-random root is SMU, I went there my freshman year before transferring into A&M.

Cameroon for soccer. I played a lot of soccer growing up and several of my club teammates were kids of faculty or grad students from there.

MLB- I'll always have a fondness from my youth for the Cubs & Braves thanks to them always being on TV when I was a kid on WGN with Harry Carey or TBS.

College baseball there's a bunch of mid-majors who were really good when I was a kid that I always pull for- Wichita State, Creighton, Pepperdine, and Long Beach are the main ones.

I've always liked Rice. As a school and they were fun to watch play baseball in the 2000s as a kid growing up in Houston.

I've been hoping they get competitive again and I used to go to a couple of rice games per year when I was younger

I don't know if it's changed back but Rice used to give some consideration on admissions to baseball. They took that away at the end of Graham's run and for the whole time Bragga and Cruz were there.

I've heard they're loosening that but don't know for sure. I do know there's a sizable contingent of faculty, administration, and alumni who think Rice should not be trying to compete at the D1 level or give athletic scholarships because they want to be like the Ivies.

Not sure how it happened, but lately I've found myself with a soft spot for Williams in F1

Great history, great success in the past.
But man, they've been terrible for a long long time now.

Yet on the past few years, huge strides….and clearly making the hires and committing the resources and efforts to legitimately improve.
