I'm going to voluntarily socially distance myself, but if I hear that the Chicken and dry bean are about to close I'm driving the 6 hours from west Texas and probably running up a thousand dollar tab.

Any other fellow restauranteurs on this board? How are you handling this? What are you doing about your employees?

We should be in the middle of our two busiest weeks of the year after just coming out of the desert that is January and February. Looks like forced closure is coming and honestly I'm ok with that. At least we'd know what to expect. Doing 100% takeout just doesn't seem worth it but who knows, maybe it bring in enough to help with staff.

don't know about this, but my guess it'll follow what the mall does. Will malls stay open?

Chik-Fil-a in Beaumont just announced they are going just straight drive thru starting tomorrow.

Chick-fil-A drive throughs are a **** show already, can't imagine a drive thru only operation
All of the CFA drive-thrus near me run like well oiled machines, even at lunch time.

Was out to pick up some things from school this morning and some wine before returning to another week of staying home. In the course of this I was by the big mall in Arlington. VERY few cars at any of the entrances for shopping. However there and in the Highlands the parking lots for eateries were pretty full. So was the lot at Walmart and Kroger.

For real. The virus is serious.... but I'm wondering how many more lives will be affected by shutting it all down. These decisions are hard ones and is either one correct?

Closing down small businesses can put them out of business in no time. More unemployment. People losing homes/apartments. Can't feed themselves or their children leading to more sickness and hospital stays. Where do we draw the line? There's going to have to be a lot of compassion and understanding coming from landlords both domestic and business or else this could get real bad real fast.
I get the sentiment, but plenty of landlords depend on those rent checks in order to pay their own bills and make a living..
