I have a very social neighbor that likes to shoot the **** with everybody on our street. He has been out and about talking to pretty much everyone the last few days out of boredom. His wife had my wife over the other night. He had a bunch of family in town that stayed overnight the other day. His wife and daughter have been out shopping at the mall all weekend. Needless to say, hes not taking Coronavirus very seriously.

Come to find out yesterday, they were just in Vail last week for Spring Break. Some people, man.

The false narrative is polis among people think it's just us and aspen / that's bull**** - Denver has the most cases. It's sad they focus on us. We were first since then we haven't had the most cases Denver has so why keep focused on us? Why? Makes no sense other than not wanting Denver to piss it's leg worrying. Its smoke and mirrors and people around here don't seem to know why were being made out to be the whipping post.

I dont live in Colorado and have none of the history you do, but when I heard Aspen is a hot spot, I think of dumb Texas tourists and seasonal workers, not the permanent residents.

Coming from a Denverite, I don't see this all as trying to create a whipping post out of the mountain counties. I think it's more a precaution because thousands of commuter skiers and travelers are up there in contact with each other. I know driving around Denver this weekend, most of this damn city doesn't think there is anything going on and chose to go out to bars, restaurants and doing whatever else because they couldn't get up to go ski yesterday. I chose to end my ski season a bit early as a precaution before Polis made the exec order. If anything I think the word of caution about the resorts and in turn closing them will hopefully help prevent rapid spread in the communities that live there. It's also going to take a rather large economic toll on those communities that live paycheck to paycheck and get by out there. Mud season just came 4 weeks early.

Hopefully the state will think about some ways to maybe ease the economic blow up there. I don't have a lot of hope for that at the moment.

Not much to say in response except that this isn't something aimed at the mountain communities. You would expect more cases in more densely populated areas (Denver as you mentioned).

All I was doing was calling out the information put out there from the public health department. If you think they have some sort of agenda against your communities in the mountains, I don't know what to tell ya.

This isn't some "rub some dirt on it", we don't ever go to the hospital situation. Not when you can spread a diseases for up to two weeks without even showing symptoms and it can devastate elderly populations. But hey, if you want to stick your head in the snow and tell everyone else to leave you alone, that's up to you. I suspect it's going to get worse in those areas, and not better based upon the article I referenced where they are even considering locking down places like Summit County.

Ski resorts must have a big rainy day fund with What they charge out of staters for a lift ticket nowadays. Especially Vail. F em

I didn't realize they sold an out on state only lift ticket - what's the price for that?

I think people like you that come in from out of state and complain about prices are hilarious - get s local pass - you don't have to be local.

The only people that pay above a day pass rate are those that don't plan ahead. You're probs one of them.

Ugh. Spent all week in Keystone. Left Friday and thankfully drove there and back. We also met a huge contingent from The Woodlands/Magnolia/Montgomery at Breck one day/night. We haven't been anywhere since we've been back home.

There are some great people in Texas, but also way more a-holes per capita than in Colorado. Just my opinion based on living in Colorado since 2009.

Of course Denver will have the highest number of cases since it has the highest population, especially when compared to the stated populations of more remote mountainous areas.

Also, everyone should consider that a vast majority of tourists that hit the ski resorts, and could have picked up Covid, subsequently went to Denver to get a bite to eat and catch a plane out.....

A virus won't treat a person any differently simply because they are stubborn and refuse to go see a doctor...

My boss took his family to Breckenridge last week. Told us around 1100 that the resort he was at was exposed and he was going to seclude for the rest of the week. He then stayed at the office...was still there when i left. He was constantly using the antibacterial lotion. I stayed in my office and wouldn't go near him! And whenever he came near my door I sprayed stuff at him
