The whole situation at our school got real ugly. Since we were not affected financially and we would like the teachers to get paid as much as they can, we went ahead and paid April tuition. We will pay May tuition as planned. We could withdraw my oldest daughter without penalty to save some $$$ since she'll be going to Kindergarten next year but we aren't going to. It sucks but I've made peace with it.

Now I completely think the director made some missteps with the situation, but it is what it is. She isn't entirely blameless for a lot of the confusion and anger some of the parents have.

Just an update: our specific preschool has decided to charge the full tuition for April. The teachers are available through Zoom and they've made us packets, but I'm really struggling with that decision.

I sympathize greatly with daycares in this but this is silly

Like, kids are staying home and working on packets with teachers available through zoom, or they're going in but you can only talk to teachers through zoom?

Ours is doing this for the preschool.

Each week you can go pick up a packet with fun activities and school work to do at home. No zoom, which is fine it's preschool.

But keeping them on track with letters and things is nice.

We are only paying 25% tuition, but we opted to pay 100% with 75% being a donation for the couple of hourly workers that are notable to work.
