Many of you know I am from the San Francisco BAY area. My county and 4 surrounding Bay Area counties are officially on shelter in place effective at midnight tonight. It's already like a ghost town on the local streets. Feels very surreal.

What are the rules? Do they allow for trips for groceries and essential supplies?
So all of the stores are being raided now?bay fan said:

Going out for essentials is allowed but discouraged now. My friends and I are picking things up for each other if one of us must go out. These are the most stringent restrictions in the country. We are allowed to go outside for a walk but if with someone must stay 6 ft away. They are strongly discouraging leaving our homes in general.Capitol Ag said:

I'm sorry, but this really is going too far. It just is.

What are the rules for the San Fran homeless?
I will be walking the dog. Would go crazy inside all the time. Maybe I should pull the trigger on a puppy, plenty of time to potty train!SoupNazi2001 said:
Can you walk the dog? What is the harm in that?
My mistake, I thought there were some decent folks on this board. I feel bad for those of you who can't think of others in times like this.BQ_90 said:

There are some decent folks on here and the information you have is of interest. All of this may be coming to Texas cities near people on here. It's sad the Forum 16 clowns can't keep their comments on Forum 16.bay fan said:My mistake, I thought there were some decent folks on this board. This is NOT a death sentence! We are acting like you drop dead if you contract the virus, IF you are in the at risk population then YOU should shelter in place the rest of us just need to get on with life!
We definitely take things in stride but this feels a bit different because of the long term consequences and the potential isolation rather then gathering together. I am grateful we can get outdoors and hike in the hills which are beautiful this time of year to release some stress and breath good clean air. I make my living in sales so not working particularly this time of year in my business makes me anxious.NormanAg said:
Our son and his family live in San Anselmo, Marin County, which is one of the six counties affected. They seem to be taking it in stride so far. And it was interesting that he told us our grand kids, HS Senior and HS Jr girls, still have school work that is required via internet.
Edit: bay fan - no offense intended, but it seems to my wife and I that Bay area residents are used to "taking things in stride" that we would not. And congrats on your Spirit Tag - well deserved!
They are considered essential in all our communities, not just my own. Many grocery stores are actually increasing wages for their staff for working through this.Ag_of_08 said:
So if only essential personnel can work, how are grocery stores open to acquire food?
Thanks. I am glad some are interested in more then showing their colors because I do suspect I may be first in this situation but won't be the last. I agree, I thought mods were going to police this board to avoid just that type of crap.Old RV Ag said:There are some decent folks on here and the information you have is of interest. This is horrible advice. It's the exact opposite of what every expert says.
