Just fantastic that we are now "hunkering down" for an unknown time due to an unseen threat and the only entity that can define these things are our government overlords.

.can you still crap in the streets?
My mistake, I thought there were some decent folks on this board. I feel bad for those of you who can't think of others in times like this.
There are some decent folks on here and the information you have is of interest. All of this may be coming to Texas cities near people on here. It's sad the Forum 16 clowns can't keep their comments on Forum 16.
Thanks. I am glad some are interested in more then showing their colors because I do suspect I may be first in this situation but won't be the last. I agree, I thought mods were going to police this board to avoid just that type of crap.
This isn't a time for trivial differences. Sorry for the lack of courtesy/concern shown by others during tough times. But take heart, there's a lot of good folks on this board. Thanks for all you do to support those around you... we would call that good bull! Be careful out there.

Thanks much Memphis. The odds I'll be fine are high, sadly not everyone is as fortunate. If I feel unsettled (ordinarily I am quite unflappable), I have friends and neighbors very anxious. Nobody is making light of it or belittling the precautions. I hope this doesn't come to a town near you!

Understand the vibe and can appreciate. My wife is tough (yet sweet) and the strongest of her four siblings... and she's borderline terrified, partly due to a weaker than normal respiratory system when ailments come along. I'm a bit unnerved as well, first because of her, and then when I think about the broad impact this will have across society.

The challenge in a moment like this is to make sure we're looking out for each other. Let's each do our own to help our neighbors along the way.... and we'll get past this.

There's so much wrong with that I don't even know where to start....

I guess when you allow gov't to take Darwinism out of the equation and do your thinking for you...

There are millions and millions of people in many countries around the world going through something similar to varying degrees. It may be a hard next few months, but we'll get through this. I don't know you, but wish you the best and try to just take it day by day and enjoy the little things.

Funny, I really don't mind when people who have far more knowledge about something then I, tell me what to do. There's literally nothing wrong with doing what's best for everyone else around you and being a citizen of the world.

It's the wording. Following sound advice is one thing. Being "allowed" to engage in normal activity is something else.

This is NOT a death sentence! We are acting like you drop dead if you contract the virus, IF you are in the at risk population then YOU should shelter in place the rest of us just need to get on with life!

This is horrible advice. It's the exact opposite of what every expert says.

You sure about that???

https://www.newscientist.com/article/2237544-testing-and-quarantine-stopped-coronavirus-in-china-not-lockdown/

US is following Europe which has the highest mortality rate.

China and S Korea are almost recovered via extensive testing and quarantine of the infected.

UK is following a "let er rip" model to get over it quickly.

So there isn't one right way to do it. There are many factors at play, and many smart experts with differing options.
