This is a site shared by our good doctor Reveille. This updates regularly so just keep refreshing. But according to this and at the time I am posting, the worldwide death rate around 4%. (number of deaths per cases) The US death rate continues to drop and is well below 2% at this time.

There are other very interesting links in this as well. Countries with much older median age populations are seeing higher death rates. Not to mention the health care systems vary greatly from country to country too as that will have a factor as well. Interesting information here.

Not to throw cold water on anything but the death rate will decrease as we test more, due to the denominator getting larger. Following the gross deaths per day will be the most accurate indicator in my opinion

China just banned the WSJ, WaPo, and NYT journalists from being in their country, so I'd take their statistics with a big grain of salt.
I missed this story. Why did they do this???

Here's a nicely made graph on the death stats.

The same graph for infections:

Basically shows how infections are going up at the same rates until quarantine/testing measures are put into place. The first one shows the difference in mortality rates between different countries.

With just a google search I found the countries with the oldest median age are Monaco - 53.1; Japan - 47.3; Germany - 47.1; Saint Pierre and Miquelon - 46.5; & Italy - 45.5. The US median age is 38.1 and ranked 61st world wide. I would suspect if we will see a higher death rate in those countries because of the higher age population. Lots of issues here.

Totally agree. No cold water on that at all. That is encouraging.

So Spain is actually on track to be quite a bit worse than Italy. That is not good. Was hoping Italy was just some sort of anomaly.

Those two countries are concerning fro sure. I suspect it has to do with the more aged populations and perhaps family culture.

South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan should be our models

So the rest of the world will continue to rely on them for goods & services. It's in their best interest to control the information flow.

We are going to end up being the model.
I don’t say this in a braggedocious way. But it’s true. I’ve been right about everything.
