The Dallas News article did not state they had no underlying health condition. I would be surprised if this reporter got access to that info. Pretty sure that would violate HIPAA.

So she just made it up???

Allison Harris has no reason to make things up; and she's almost certainly not "making something up" for ****s and giggles.

Do in the trenches reporters make mistakes? Certainly. They get told wrong information, they get information confused or conflated with other information, especially in situations like this...That's not "making stuff up."

And sometimes, when you wonder how they'd possibly know something, it turns out they're just good at knowing things.

She is reporting the info is from Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins and included him in her tweet, so she isn't making it up.

Saying an unnamed patient of a nonspecific age with an unknown gender at an unnamed hospital in Dallas doesn't have underlying medical conditions isn't a HIPAA violation.

My niece is a doctor who rotated to the ICU in her hospital in New Orleans last week.

They have 4 patients there in ICU, all on ventilators and one is 27 years old. Didn't mention pre-existing conditions.
