What about late January and February, though? I've heard of a lot of people around that time, including myself. I haven't had the flu in nearly 20 years and I got what I just assumed was the flu this year, a month before all this breaks out.
I'm not saying I had it, but I'm not discounting it. Seems like a decent sized coincidence from someone who never gets the flu, unless there is another flu strand that has been more prevalent and contagious in the last few months as well.
